EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Uses hand tools, water, solvents, or compressed air to blow out radiators and belly pans of dozers, scrapers, loaders, trash compactors and other equipment on a regular basis to prevent overheating and breakdown at specified intervals. • Removes and replaces air cleaners, pre-cleaners, and cabin filters. Performs lubrication of zerk fittings and fluid top offs. • Visually checks equipment for signs of potential problems such as oil, fuel or hydraulic leaks and reports these to fleet supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience: One year of assisting in maintenance and minor repairs on a variety of heavy construction equipment in the field or a garage where maintenance and major repair work are performed. Knowledge of: The locations and functions of major parts on a variety of light and heavy equipment including tractor dozers, scrapers, and loaders; the use of hand, power, and pneumatic tools, and gas welding equipment; equipment service and maintenance techniques. Ability to: Apply knowledge independently in field situations; efficiently plan and schedule activities according to established priorities; accurately maintain simple records.

Physical Abilities: Prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, and climbing. Physical Exposures: Weather extremes (hot/cold); landfill odors; insects Driver's License : License: Possession of a valid California Driver's License. Must obtain an unrestricted Class A or B Commercial California Driver's Permit within two months of employment.
