At the full-performance level, you will be expected to: Typical work performed is related to a variety of crafts and trades such as carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, routine service and minor repairs on equipment, concrete working as well as grounds maintenance.

Occasionally assists higher graded employees in the operation of flood control equipment. Utilizes computers and software, including Corps-developed software, to complete forms, type memorandum and prepare reports. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background

investigation. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Pre-employment physical exam due to the physical requirements of the position. Heavy physical lifting is required of this position. Required to wear the appropriate uniform for this position. The maintenance uniform shall be worn in accordance with EP Chapter 7. May be required to perform wildfire suppression duties. Must possess and maintain a valid State motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet

the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e. g. Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e. g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. This opportunity typically follows a standard promotional path (please note, this may be different depending on the selections qualifications, education and/or experience): Initial selection may be made at the WG-03 or WG-04. Within 120 days after completion of position requirements, you may be eligible for conversion to the entry-level for the target occupation. Entry level for these positions are typically at the WG-05 level. The actual grade level at the time of conversion depends on academic achievement and other factors.

The full performance level of this position is WG-08 grade level. Progression from the entry-level to the full performance level for this occupation will depend on successful completion of all requirements for promotion. Promotions may be considered after a year at each grade level, but are not guaranteed to occur on a specific time schedule.
