This position provides management and leadership of the Maintenance Department in the overall planning, execution, administration, and record-keeping of water system maintenance, repairs, and new connections.

In addition, tasks will include: Coordinating labor, materials and equipment required for the maintenance and repair of each water system. Coordinating with developers, inspectors, and District staff to complete connections between developer and contracted work and the District's system. Ensuring timely repair of main and water service line equipment, meters,

valves, fire hydrants, and other equipment or appurtenances. Supervise, mentor and train personnel to provide safe performance and efficient work practices.

Effectively coordinate with Safety personnel to ensure that work processes are safe and performed per District policies and practices, best practices, and in compliance with all state and federal safety standards. Coordinate with Operations, WTP and Engineering departments regarding current and future repair, heavy maintenance, fleet planning, and extension of the District's water systems Perform accurate and effective staff performance evaluations. Must be reachable after hours to resolve issues as necessary for service restoration

and emergent situations. Qualifications: Knowledge of complex engineering theories and principles as they relate to water hydraulics, civil design, and construction for a complex water utility.

Knowledge of jobsite organization to facilitate safe and efficient workflow Knowledge of the methods, equipment, tools, and standard practices for water system construction and maintenance Coordinating with developers, inspectors, and District staff to complete connections between developer and contracted work and the District's system. Knowledge of personal computers and MS Office, and experience with computer applications related to Auto CAD, GIS and City Works.

Ability to research engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting effective staff reports; and the ability to read and interpret written information effectively. Ability to effectively prioritize and plan work activities. Effective supervisory principles, practices, and techniques. Associates Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred. Ten (10) years' experience in water system construction, operations, maintenance and personnel supervision. CCS and Water Distribution Manager 2 (WDM2) certification or higher, or must obtain within one year of hire.

Prompt and regular attendance is mandatory. Must demonstrate excellent judgment and show a commitment to ethical conduct. Must pass a background check. Valid WA State driver's license required. The entire salary range for this position is $115,710 - $166,608 annually.
