(DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES): Participate in a 12 month comprehensive engineering training program at the Euclid facility, including: Complete 7 weeks of The Lincoln Electric Weld School hands-on weld training, including periodic welding skills test and automation training 2 weeks of Six Sigma training 24 weeks of Core rotational assignments that are driven by real Lincoln Electric business priorities 16 weeks of an individualized track that are created based on participant’s interest and current business needs BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial Mechanical or Welding Engineering; Material Science or Metallurgy Desire to work independently

D. programs seeking a visionary leader to grow our national and international footprint in engineering education research.
Since 2007, the Department has administered the first-year engineering course sequence, which is focused on developing students in various areas, including design thinking, algorithmic thinking, and professional skills.
We aim to expand our graduate program to be a distinct element of the engineering education ecosystem by immersing students in rigorous methodological training and leveraging the University of Cincinnati’s history of cooperative education to provide experiential learning opportunities within and outside academia. Our graduate program prepares students to conduct state-of-the-art educational research in engineering and bridge research to practice by defining effective practices,
identifying the reasons why they work, developing curricula, backssing how students learn, and moving those findings into future engineering classrooms.
Our undergraduate contributions to the College also necessitate a nimble leader that can successfully integrate emerging educational technologies into the curriculum and collaborate with other departments to ensure students are well-positioned for upper-division courses and co-op rotations. Currently, DECE does not confer any undergraduate degrees, but there is considerable interest in developing an undergraduate program allowing students to develop expertise that spans multiple areas, both within and outside engineering.

Essential Functions Successful candidates will be expected to: Act as a visionary academic leader with a demonstrated ability to turn vision into reality and inspire DECE faculty, staff, students, and the community with ambitious but attainable departmental goals and develop a plan to lead DECE toward meeting those goals. Foster a culture of accountability in which departmental goals are specified, strategies articulated, and results against goals are reported.
Strengthen/advance existing research programs within DECE and develop new ones across a variety of sectors, including but not limited to, government agencies, foundations, and industry. Develop, maintain, and strengthen transdisciplinary research collaborations across the CEAS and the University community. Promote scholarly and creative excellence. Facilitate development, mentoring, and personnel management to faculty and staff. Lead the development of an innovative undergraduate Multidisciplinary Engineering program along and continue to expand the graduate DECE program to position DECE to effectively respond the University’s strategic sizing and Next lives here initiatives.
Initiate new and strengthen current national and international relationships in pursuit of joint educational and research collaborations to enhance the Department’s domestic and global visibility. Minimum Requirements Prior to the effective date of appointment: Must have a Ph. D. in engineering, engineering education or a closely related discipline, a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, and demonstrated intellectual leadership and administrative skills.
The successful applicant will have a dedication to the instructional and research mission of the university including a strong commitment to advancing undergraduate engineering education through the development of innovative teaching pedagogies and curriculum development, and a strong history of funding and publications for engineering education related research projects.
