experiences to apply. A Brief Overview To perform and report various laboratory tests prescribed by physicians. Has advanced experience and/or laboratory training that give this candidate the ability (advanced tech skill inventory) to perform this service in multiple or highly specialized sections of the laboratory as assigned.

Provides assistance to the Director and Supervisor for procedure development, product evaluation, quality monitors, review of technical/regulatory manuals and other technical duties. What you will do Accurately performs routine to highly complex diagnostic tests or procedures as assigned in multiple laboratory sections (advanced tech skill inventory) and reports

results through appropriate channels. Completes, evaluates and records all appropriate quality controls and quality assurance markers.

Activates troubleshooting procedures when necessary. Trains others to perform this responsibility when assigned. Assists others (as appropriate based on skill level) by demonstrating expertise of advance experience and or training (tech skill inventory) as necessary for laboratory operation and provides IMPACT feedback to the Supervisor. Maintains an awareness of laboratory science, products and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements to the Director or Supervisor. Assists with procedure development, product evaluations, quality monitors and regulatory compliance as assigned Performs preventative/safety maintenance on equipment and maintains a safe, clean and efficient work environment.

Takes initiative in problem solving equipment failures to the extent capable. Communicates unresolved issues to supervisor or designee. Complies with personal protective equipment (PPE) and other laboratory and hospital safety standards 100% of the time. Notifies supervisor of unsafe events. Responsibly controls and maintains inventory. Trains others to perform this responsibility when assigned. Provides professional, courteous and calm customer service to both internal and external customers.

Identifies appropriate resources and sources for re-directed inquiries. Acts as a reference source for laboratory procedures within their skill inventory as necessary. Takes charge of any unusual or problem situations and reports issue to Supervisor or Director. Regularly reviews operational procedure manuals, individual competency backssment, quality assurance monitors for completeness, accuracy and regulatory compliance. Assists the Supervisor with recommendations for content, accuracy and improvements. Actively identifies and pursues technical learning needs.

Actively participates in laboratory section continuing education/quality assurance meetings by providing instructional support and presentations. Successfully completes 12 units of approved continuing education activities during evaluation cycle. Positions allocated to the Pattern Evidence specialty are assigned to one of the following disciplines: Documents, Firearms/Toolmarks, or Latent Prints. An important aspect of the work is serving on interdisciplinary committees within the Office of Forensic Science of the Philadelphia Police Department. Work in this class differs from the next lower level in that the employee is expected to provide basic instruction

As experience is gained, employees oversee small projects within the area of specialty. C.47 Local 2187 FLSA Code Exempt Minimum Requirements Minimum Training, Education & Experience The following statement represents the minimum training and experience standards which will be used to admit or reject applicants for tests. Candidates must meet requirements within 30 days after the last date for filing applications. DIGITAL EVIDENCE SPECIALTY 1. EDUCATION : Completion of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university with major coursework in:1.

COMPUTER FORENSICS 2. COMPUTER SCIENCE / INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY 3. DIGITAL FILMMAKING AND VIDEO PRODUCTION 4. VISUAL EFFECTS AND MOTION GRAPHICS 5. MEDIA STUDIES 6. PHOTGRAPHY AND 2. See below for details. QUALIFIED EXAMINER DOCUMENTATION - Must be provided to the Police Department at the time of interview. Proof of successful completion of a training program within an accredited forensic science organization, which resulted in qualification as an expert (forensic examiner) in the area of specialty and assignment. Qualification must have included independent forensic casework, routine proficiency testing, and testimony as an expert in the area of specialty/discipline. External candidates must provide documentation to support their qualification as an expert.

Documentation should include:1. A certificate or letter from an accredited forensic laboratory that details the area and date of qualification.2. Proof of the laboratory's accreditation from either ANAB or another ISO / IEC 17025 or 17020 forensic accrediting body.3. Proof of successful completion of routine proficiency test may include copies of proficiency test results, a summary document from the laboratory's quality assurance program, or other documentation that details scope and completion of proficiency testing.4. Proof of testimony experience may include a copy of a court transcript from one or more trials, or a letter from a court official detailing the expert's experience testifying in court as an expert in a specific discipline.

NOTE : Employees must maintain status as a qualified Forensic Examiner during tenure of employment as a Forensic Scientist 3. NOTE : Selective Factor Certification may be utilized, as needed, to fill specific positions. In accordance with Civil Service Regulation 11.032 - Selective Factor Certification - the appointing authority may request certification of eligible candidates with one or more of the required degrees and/or specific experience to fill specific positions in this class.

Certification to fill such positions will be made from the two highest-ranking eligible candidates on the eligible list who possess the specified degree and/or experience. Permanent City employees will receive no promotional preference in this examination. Candidates who pass the exam and are placed on the civil service list will be retained on the list for a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years after the establishment of the Eligible List. Positions allocated to the Pattern Evidence specialty are assigned to one of the following disciplines: Documents, Firearms/Toolmarks, or Latent Prints. An important aspect of the work is serving on interdisciplinary committees within the Office of Forensic Science of the Philadelphia Police Department. Work in this class differs from the next lower level in that the employee is expected to provide basic instruction

to junior examiners and trainees and assist in the development of training materials while maintaining an active forensic caseload.

As experience is gained, employees oversee small projects within the area of specialty. Work in each specialty includes examining evidence associated with crimes for presentation of laboratory findings in written reports and through expert testimony in criminal trials. JOB TITLE: Packer JOB TYPE: Beginner/Entry Level General Labor LOCATION: Hanover, Pennsylvania GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Packer is responsible for working on the production floor to manually pack and create product into boxes, trays, and cartons while also completing the final quality inspection

of finished goods. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares cardboard cartons/trays for product packing by folding, taping, sorting, and labeling cartons, securing carton ends together and placing cartons/trays on the work area.

Checks to ensure tape guns/taper have sufficient amount of tape. Visual Inspections of final product packaging for product integrity including, but not limited to bag registration, code dates, prices, bag, and cases for proper seals. Removes out of specifications product and communicates packaging problems. Fills cartons/displays based on packaging specs. Ensures that products are packaged in cases with appropriate. corresponding labels, if applicable tapes and

seals cartons. Stacks correct number of cartons/trays on pallets/skids using correct stacking pattern.

If applicable, utilizes pallet jack to move finished goods weighing up to 300lbs. Clears loose product from turntable/area; discards defective bags, boxes, trays; sweeps loose product off the floor. Assists with product rework according to plant expectations. Practices and adheres to appropriate Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices guidelines/procedures for safe housekeeping and personal protection. Keeps work area clean/adheres to 5S protocols. Stores packaging room supplies in designated areas. Keeps work area aisles/exits clear and free from obstructions.

Removes trash from work area floor; keeps turntables/area clean; follows instructions for safe lifting/carrying of various sizes, shapes, and weights. Performs sanitation tasks as directed (including, but not limited to equipment washes, seasoner cleanings, and wipeouts). Prepares line for startup and assist with any equipment changeovers, when applicable. May operate tray making and/or stapling machines. Required to be Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) certified and use LOTO rules when preforming mandatory cleanings. Reports any issues to Machine Operators, Coordinator, or Supervisor as appropriate.

Picking defects from product stream. May perform other duties as required. Mandatory overtime may be required.
