SUMMARY OF DUTIES Under the supervision of the Compliance Officer, the Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for taking the lead in assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the organization's accreditation activities.

The Quality Assurance Specialist also assists programs in outcome development and implementation; assists and provides administrative coverage in the absence of program management staff; assists in writing organizational and program specific procedures and reviewing contract proposals; participates in program statewide meetings, organizational

committees and task forces; monitors and manages internal program performance and compliance, and supports program staff in accreditation and quality improvement activities; meets with program management and direct service staff and reviews program charts, manuals, and documents to evaluate adherence to PQI, internal and external requirements, and best practice methods; conducts and assists in the development of organizational and programs specific trainings, and with program fiscal audits and chart reviews statewide; implements tracking system to monitor supervision records; monitors and assists in completion of external funder/contractor reporting and submission requirements; maintains confidentiality at all times; and performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS Master's Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type. EXPERIENCE Over two years, up to and including four years. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED One year supervisory experience required. Knowledge of and experience with quality improvement activities required. Two years' experience working in the human services field. Experience in working with parents/caretakers who harmed their children or threatened their children with harm and children who experienced harm or were threatened with harm and who experienced trauma and loss.

Experience in working with domestic violence, substance abuse, and permanency issues. QA prior experience. OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island. Verification of licensure/certification will be required at time of appointment/hire, and continued employment is contingent on maintaining licensure/certification.
