This position is located on the main grounds of the University of Virginia, but can include semiannual trips to the Anheuser Busch Coastal Research Center in Oyster, VA, The Virginia State Arboretum in Front Royal, VA and/or Mountain Lake Biological Station in Blacksburg, VA. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health & drug screening is required for this position prior to employment. Physical Demands: The candidate must be able to lift 30lbs, stand at and walk between facilities for up to six hours per day, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment to work in environments that may contain hazards which include: animal allergens, biohazards (ABSL2-3), hot machinery, radioisotopes, and chemical hazards.
