Summary/Objective: The Combo Pipe Welder/Fitter will lay out, fabricate, assemble, weld and install various piping systems as well as perform various industrial/mechanical work within industrial systems. Essential

Duties: Knows the properties of various rods and fluxes used in welding metals Read and interpret sketches, blue prints, and isometric plans/drawings Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers; plan work and select proper tools Cuts pipe, using port-a-band saw, reciprocating saw, pipe cutters, power saw, cutting torch, and pipe cutting machine Clean, bevel, prepare and install pipe with various fittings and weld joints Perform layout, rigging and transportation of pipe, valves and fittings Plans sequence on installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipe and pipe

fittings, including carbon and stainless steel, utilizing threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools Test piping systems using pneumatic or hydrostatic test methods Installation of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications.
