JOB DESCRIPTION The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team, and is responsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group

Clinical Skills Interventional Radiology Specific: a) Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures. b) Knowledge of interventional procedures utilizing Ultrasound and CT. c) Ensure scheduling efficiency and facilitate communication with special procedure staff, nursing unit, Cath Lab holding and Same Day Surgery d) Verify lab results within normal limits (inform physician of any abnormal results), verify patient NPO status, procedural orders, patent IV access, and patient LOC appropriate for procedural consent. e) Set up room for patient arrival (open trays, procedural room set up, Hemochron and crash cart checks, etc).
f) Appropriate initial patient backssment to include the following i. baseline vital signs ii. peripheral pulse backssment iii. pre induction backssment for sedation (allergies, sedation history, and etc. ) pletion of procedural pause/ timeout v. interpretation of laboratory results and any other pertinent pre procedural test results plete neuro check for all Neuro procedures, pre during and post procedure pre-procedural patient preparation (shaving, aseptic prep) administration of moderate sedation following LRMC protocol knowledge of equipment use and location (circulating).
Complete all documentation pre, during, and post procedure in a timelymanner k) Proficiency in achieving hemostasis on any percutaneous access removal l) Post procedural patient backssment, transfer of patient care to nursing unit, and transport of critical care patients. m) Participate in room turn around 6.
