Psychiatric Technician performs technical and manual tasks related to patient care under the direction of the Regional Mental Health Director, Health Services Administrator, or higher licensed medical professional.

The job duties include providing direct care, support, and assistance to patients with mental illnesses or behavioral disorders, as well as assisting with therapeutic activities, medication management, and crisis intervention. The Psychiatric Technician ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients. Key Responsibilities: Collects basic data and contributes to the evaluation of individualized interventions for mental health patients in accordance with their care or treatment plan.

Provides direct patient care, including basic nursing services, medication administration, communication skills for patient care and education, and contributing to self-care teaching plans. Maintains communication with Psych RN, LCSW/LMFT, MD/psychiatrist, or NP/PA regarding patients' mental health needs while maintaining confidentiality. Transcribes doctor's orders, assists with program admission and discharge paperwork, and manages and organizes mental health clinical documentation and records.

Assists with electronic data input and data gathering, continuity of care, discharge planning, attendance in program meetings, and gathering persons served identification and social information. The Production Supervisor will provide daily supervision of personnel and operations to ensure achievement of departmental goals and levels.

Assist in the development, implementation and delivery of departmental training programs; ensure that direct reports receive departmental orientation and necessary on-the-job training. Oversee maintenance of group training manual and training records. Recommend short-range operating objectives, organizational structure of direct reports and staffing requirements.

Assist in the development of a departmental plan for backup and succession of key technical personnel. Perform all other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (B. A. /B. S. ) 4+ years' supervisory experience An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Related experience in and/or training in animal husbandry. Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related discipline.

Experience with Gnotobiotics and/or IVC. Experience working in Barrier Rooms. The pay range for this position is $65,000- $75,000. In-depth knowledge of Do D security policy and requirements. Skilled in developing Do D and Navy security authorization documentation and artifacts. Capable of developing recommendations for security requirements in Do D systems. Adept at performing validation and testing of security controls for Do D systems. Clearance: SECRETCertifications: Do D 8570 IAT/IAM Level II (e. g. Security+) Additional Information Position requires on-site presence; remote support is not available.
