This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions.
Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process. We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Operator to operate asphalt plants controls, to weigh and deliver specified quantities of aggregates and asphalt cement to dryer for heating, and to mixer for mixing and dumping into trucks. Plant Operators maintain proper heat in dryer by adjusting thermostatic controls and maintain
proper flow of materials. They assist in maintenance of plant equipment and in compiling reports regarding plant production & plant maintenance. May perform other related duties.
Job requirements include the following: Job requires the following motions: climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, pushing, pulling, vibration, twisting, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting, reaching. Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb stairs/ladders to top of plant. Uses tools such as sledge hammer, wrenches, screwdrivers, cutting torch, welder, pneumatic hammer/drill, sand blaster, pipe wrench, hand shovel. Answers telephone, radio, and takes and inputs
orders. Depending on the size of the vehicle, employee could be required to have the following Commercial Drivers’ License in accordance with 49 CFR 383.91: heavy straight vehicle (Group B, no endorsements necessary).
Overtime work is required. May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather. Requires riding to and from plant sites. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Responsible for safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading. Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging. Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor. Keep
time and material records. Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications. Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit. Travel from interstate highway to rural dirt roads from various locations.
