Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Catering Director for a NEW account at Western Washington University located in Bellingham, WA. Our Catering Director will maintain and establish all costs and quality standards to ensure outstanding service and to improve

profits. You will lead a catering team with a direct line to the client. You will be responsible for promoting the professional growth and development of the entire team.

Events can range from coffee service to VIP dining events on campus. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and implements effective strategies to improve catering operations and build catering revenue Ensures successful operations of catering functions including labor cost control, foods cost control and preparation, transportation, setup, and cleanup of all events Generates effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationships Trains, and schedules catering staff, and will be actively involved

in the development of existing catering staff in-service techniques, menu presentation, policies, and procedures PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s Degree is preferred in either Hospitality or Culinary Arts High volume catering experience Proven experience in the hospitality industry with management experience Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Ability to work at times with minimal supervision, and accomplish tasks without direct instruction, and problem solve for the best solutions Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 Starting Rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to: location, education, training, and/or experience Apply to Chartwells Higher Education today!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs inventory management to maintain high valuation and minimal waste. Ensures that staff is on task, quality assurance standards are

being met, and the operation is clean and organized. Monitors marketing, confirming that signage is current and appropriate.
