Competent in backssing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating the physiological population-specific health status of the patient per protocol and policy. Demonstrates current knowledge of pharmacology by proper population-specific administration of medication and observation of patient response. Uses critical thinking in formulating population-specific nursing diagnosis and implements
appropriate treatment for nursing diagnosis. Completes documentation appropriately and legibly in accordance with policies and procedures. Completes backssments.
Ability to alter priorities to meet patient and team needs. Capable of responding to change. Identifies patient/family education needs and initiates discussion/instructions and/or utilizes appropriate resources. Acts as a team member. Delegates appropriately. Collaborates with physicians, students, family members and staff. Orients new staff, precepts when requested. Assists in providing education or training to other staff members when requested. education learning. Collaborates with students and other members of the campus community and health care providers in providing care and school health activities.
Consults with other health care providers for clients and care programs as needed. Creates a safe environment and follows standards precautions when performing job duties. The school health nurse provides active health promotions, health protection and disease prevention services for individuals or groups. Uses student education opportunities in the practice setting. Participates in the evaluation of these activities and uses the evaluation to make individual and program health education changes.

Qualifications: Current State license or Compact State License (if lives outside of SC) Education: Current State License or Compact State License (if lives outside of SC) BLS - required upon hire and continuously thereafter.
