Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets. Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems

and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Support the design of systems, mission architecture and associated hardware. Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Ten (10) years' or more of experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity Five (5) years' experience in Computer Network Operations to include: TCP/IP, networks, computer configuration, remote manipulation of systems (FTP, mapping drives, share accounts), remote monitoring and administration. In a supervisory capacity, the Research Specialist IV works with staff to manage, use, troubleshoot, and train on instrumentation such as cryo-FIB SEM Helios 5 Hydra CX or Aquilos-2, ACE900, cryo plungers, high pressure freezers, freeze-substitution devices, electron microscopes (T12, T20, Glacios, Krios) and related accessories. This role will be in charge of ensuring that the lab and its equipment are properly maintained, as well as prioritizing, scheduling, and coordinating usage of equipment across multiple NIH institutes.

You will also have the opportunity to assist students and postdocs with projects, in addition to working on independent projects. Who are we looking for? A candidate that possesses a B. S. or higher in a related field required; and a minimum six years’ experience working with cryo-FIB required. Experience in fields such as fluorescent and/or electron microscopy preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for what is listed.

The pay range for this position is $90,000 to $95,000 USD per year.
