General Description A Truck Driver - Water Tanker is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that performs on construction projects any combination of the duties described

more fully, below. A Truck Driver - Water Tanker typically performs a wide variety of tasks, transferring from one task to another as the work flow dictates.

The Truck Driver - Water Tanker will be running and operating a water truck that will need a CDL Class A license with a tanker endorsement. The Truck Driver - Water Tanker may also drive a tri-axel truck and trailer for the asphalt/paving operations Team. Key Duties+ Valid Class " A" CDL with tanker endorsement and driving record within MVR policy guidelines+ Familiarity with DOT regulations+ Drives tank truck to transport water for construction projects or to provide water for use on the construction site+ Knowledge with

chaining and binding of equipment being transported. (DOT)+ Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel and inspections for leaks and damage to vehicle before operation+ Responsible for daily maintenance of vehicle to remain in proper and safe working order+ Responsible for notifying supervisor if vehicle needs to be repaired+ Insert pipe in refilled trenches and other excavations+ Operate auxiliary pump on truck to pump water into fill to settle and compact dirt+ Drive truck equipped with sprinkling attachment to settle dust on roadways and streets+ Saturate flexible base for compaction+ Drive tri axel truck and trailer+ The Driver/Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Truck Driver - Water Tanker.

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees. One (1) year or more of industry related experience is required for this position, with an emphasis on roads, highways, underground utilities and bridges. + Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Truck Driver - Water Tanker to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. + Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.

Employee must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties. + Frequently work with hands extended overhead, sometimes in conjunction with the operation of hand power tools. + Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds and carry at least 30 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance. + Manual dexterity to hand-carry generators, lumber and other construction materials, forms, power tools, and hand tools.

+ Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment. + Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions. + The Driver/Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely. + Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those that a Truck Driver - Water Tanker encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

+ Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. + Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project. + Employee regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery. + Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel and ready mixed concrete. Primary Job Function: Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment The primary task of the Ready Mix Driver is driving to and from plant and work sites. However, in between, the driver must hose down the rig to keep it clean. The driver also must walk on uneven and slippery

surfaces at the work sites and at the plant. Primary responsibility is to drive concrete mixer to work sites and discharge load. This is in a variety of settings and conditions including uneven ground and may require unloading and be attaching extension chutes weighing thirty to fifty pounds to end of the primary chute.

The required regular lifting of 25- 50 pounds. May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment. May perform other related duties, such as lifting and moving of transported materials. The job requires climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, stretching, driving, sitting, shifting gears, pulling, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Uses

hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and shovels. May be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather.

Overtime is required. Must pass DOT physical/drug screen. Adheres to Company safety policy and rules at all times. Applicant is required to meet PREFERRED MATERIALS Driver Qualification Standards. Must have the following Commercial Drivers’ License and necessary endorsements in accordance with 49 CFR 383.91: combination vehicle (Group A or B). The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented. Qualifications: Must be able to Read, Write, and Communicate effectively. 1-2 years of related experience or training preferred Class A or B driver's license.

Current medical card (or ability to obtain one). No DUI’s within the last 2 years. Minimal moving violations. Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain respectful relationships with other staff. Ability to read and interpret written information such as safety rules, sales tickets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
