City: Suwanee State: Georgia TITLE: OCM Laboratory Technician DEPARTMENT: OCM Operations REPORTS TO: Laboratory Supervisor - Paying to $15.00 per hour full time.

SUMMARY: Perform laboratory tests to determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition of solid, liquid, or gaseous materials for such purposes as quality control, process control, or product development by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as FTIRs, ICPS, balance/scales, spectrophotometer, gas chromatograph, colorimeter, and other equipment. Tests in-service lubricants for

maintenance and reliability purposes for characteristics such as wear, contamination, viscosity, density, cleanliness, and degradation by-products.

Records test results on standardized forms and writes test reports describing procedures used. Cleans and maintains laboratory equipment. Calibrates laboratory instruments. Prepares chemical solutions according to standard formulas. Adds chemicals or raw materials to process solutions or products batches to correct or establish formulation required to meet specifications. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to do some basic algebra, calculus, and trigonometry.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, AND REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license not required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use of hands and/or finger to feel objects, work tools, or controls; talk or hear and smell. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
