DAY-TO-DAY This full-time teaching position in human services works the day shift during business hours. As a Classroom Instructor - General Education Specialist in human services, you're responsible for designing and implementing our classroom programs under the guidance
of the school administrator or other designated staff. In collaboration with the special education teacher, you create a classroom environment that's both motivating and stimulating for students.
You implement project-based learning experiences and opportunities through an approved curriculum that addresses the social, emotional, and academic needs of our students. Within 30 days of student admission, you also develop individual education plans (IEPs) and serve as a coordinator in IEP meetings. Additionally, you maintain periodic progress scales for each student, attending case conferences throughout the school year at scheduled intervals. You implement a positive behavioral system as
well as ensure that accurate attendance records are completed and submitted by the end of the school year.
As needed, you create monthly reports and attend school- or agency-specific meetings. You also develop working relationships with assigned professionals and individuals responsible for therapeutic classroom activities. In collaboration with the treatment team, you maintain a working knowledge of each child's diagnostic and treatment information. You participate in relevant meetings and workshops as well as help organize and supervise extracurricular activities. In a timely manner, you conduct evaluations for initial referrals from the school district and submit corresponding reports.

Actively contribute to a safe, warm and supportive
classroom environment. Implement positive behavior guidance and support for all children in collaboration with school, regional and other support staff. This includes assistance with behavior management and self-care for individual student(s), including toileting assistance, as necessary.
Provide support to the teacher in managing whole group, small group and individual child learning in center-based classroom using Creative Curriculum. Actively engage children in the learning experiences in the classroom under guidance from the Lead Teacher Assist teacher with backssment methodology and maintain updated student profiles. Actively participate in all regularly scheduled team meetings and
professional development sessions. Assist with the nutrition services to children as assigned: including, but not limited to the following: transporting meals to the classroom, storage of food and supplies, participation in family style dining, clean-up and sanitation, nutritional educational activities.
Adhere to all relevant health and safety policies and procedures. Support students with toileting needs Provide services to all children and families with respect, confidentiality and dignity. Work collaboratively with classroom teacher and school leadership to engage and support parents. Support and maintain positive partnerships within the school building.
