Who You Are: The Legal Assistant position is a key support position for CCILS. This position provides administrative support to the attorneys and accredited representatives in preparing and filing client applicants, correspondence, and data entry. What You Will Work On: Assist attorneys and accredited representatives in representing Immigration Legal Services clients in preparing applications. Data entry, mailing processing, case distribution, filing, scheduling, document translation, and other clerical/administrative duties. Frequent written and oral correspondence with clients and potential clients, including answering phones, greeting the public, providing information and referral, scheduling and facilitating client appointments, closing cases.

What You Bring: Education, Certifications, and Licensure Requirements/Preferences Associates Degree or equivalent lived and or worked experience preferred. Experience Requirements/Preferences 2 year's previous legal assistance experience in the immigration law field Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English required.

Experience working with data entry in Salesforce or other databases Experience or desire to work with victims of domestic violence and interactionual Demonstrated competency working with people from diverse cultures. Ability to backss and treat clients in a culturally competent manner. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, where warranted. What You Bring: Education, Certifications, and Licensure Requirements/Preferences JD degree from an accredited law school and admission to bar in any state.

Experience Requirements/Preferences 1 year of experience practicing immigration law, preferred. Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing in Spanish and English required. Sensitivity to and experience with clients in removal proceedings; ability to convey concern and establish trusting, caring relationship with clients by way of active listening and supportive communication. Experience with low-income and culturally diverse populations.

thorough attention to each matter Offer legal analysis to clients, determining potential case benefits Accumulate additional evidence to support clients' cases or counter prosecution charges Prepare clients for depositions, define essential case strategy goals, and gather information from witnesses and experts supporting client positions Requirements: Minimum of 2-5 years of criminal defense experience Proven experience in handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels Team player with the ability to collaborate, assist, and strategize with fellow associates Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Certifications:
