THRIVE has received funds to collaborate more closely with the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline's in the region and the NW Tribes to improve access to and the services connected to local call centers.

This project will carry out suicide prevention grant activities required by SAMHSA's 988 Tribal Response grant. The Project Coordinator will work closely with both the THRIVE Project Director as well as the 988 Project Director. The team will collaborate with the Tribes, call centers, states, and other organizations invested in this work. The project coordinator will provide technical and specialized support to the Project Directors to support the overall grant goals and objectives.

The Project Coordinator will aid the THRIVE 988 Project Director in improving intertribal and interagency collaboration and communication about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, suicide prevention, and treatment. This position will promote mental health and work to improve the social acceptability of mental health services for AI/AN people. The Project Coordinator will assist in developing Tribal partnerships to increase the capacity of local 988 centers to implement a comprehensive and coordinated response to individuals at risk for suicide. This position will work to increase tribal capacity and expand their delivery of suicide and substance use disorder prevention, early intervention, and crisis intervention strategies in NW tribal settings.

The Program Coordinator will also provide technical and specialized support to both THRIVE Project Directors to support the overall project goals and objectives. Essential Functions: Coordinate quarterly partner calls with local 988 call centers, NW Tribes, and State representatives to improve effective 988 response and linkage to tribal resources. Review current 988 crisis call center training and continuing education curricula and materials to ensure they are culturally appropriate and trauma-informed.

Develop, update, print, and disseminate suicide prevention social marketing and media campaign materials tailored to AI/AN populations. Assist all sub-awarded 988 crisis centers with creating a plan that will identify and track referrals and develop a response for staff to establish follow-up contact protocols for AI/ANs after crisis encounters. Help develop a quality improvement plan focusing on procedures, policies, backssment, referral, and access to local care to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to Tribal individuals at imminent risk for suicide.

Works with the Project Director and local evaluator for data collection and reporting Works with the Project Director to write continuation application and budget modifications for the funding agencies as required. Coordinate and facilitate QPR and ASIST workshops per requests. Responsible for preparing, initiating, and tracking purchasing requests. Record and transcribe minutes of project meetings. Collaborate with other NPAIHB programs to meet related goals and objectives. Attend training for trainer workshops to support suicide intervention training requests by the NW Tribes, workshops may include (Question Persuade Refer, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, Safe TALK, etc.

). Coordinate and provide presentations to NW Tribes and at conferences and tribal gatherings. Take part in speaking engagements to further the message of suicide prevention. Maintain regional and organizational relationships which further the work of suicide prevention. Prepare a Monthly Activity Report (MAR) and provide it to the Project Director at the end of each month. Manage and update project partners contact lists (email and physical addresses, contact numbers, correct list for the email listserv, etc.

). Promote NPAIHB projects at regional and national meetings and conferences. Maintain well-organized filing system for documents and computer files. Seek opportunities for ongoing suicide prevention education and professional development. Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Directors. Job Summary: The NPAIHB Tribal Opioid Response (TOR) Consortium works to address the opioid crisis among tribal nations by increasing capacity to address the complex factors associated with a comprehensive opioid response, including access to culturally appropriate prevention, treatment, and recovery activities with the intent of reducing

unmet treatment need and opioid-related deaths, as well as a focus on using cultural and community strengths as prevention.

The project coordinator's (PC) primary responsibilities for the NPAIHB TOR Consortium are to provide coordination and support for the Consortium Tribes. Duties include, but are not limited to: organizing consortium calls, meetings, and/or trainings; coordinate travel for project if needed; track and divide technical assistance requests from Consortium tribes; be the primary contact for Oregon Tribes in the Consortium; maintain and send out resources/announcements for the TOR listserv and; coordinate all purchasing for harm reduction kits and travel payments for any contractors or Tribes.

The PC will also help the Project Manager with coordination of communication across NPAIHB projects closely related to TOR to respond to the needs of the NW Tribes.
