KEY QUALIFICATIONS. We want the person selected for this role to be successful! The following qualifications are essential to be effective in this role: Four-year degree in engineering is strongly preferred. In lieu of an engineering degree, a four-year degree in a technical field with relevant work experience may be considered. Seeking at least eight (8) years of experience in quality, ASME Section I or VIII, heavy industry, manufacturing, construction, welding, non-destructive testing, and/or other similar fields.

Experienced Manufacturing Engineer with a background in Solidworks and Auto CAD (primary responsibilities being in Solidworks). years of Manufacturing Engineering experience with industrial products or machines preferred.

Welding methods, fixture design and metal forming experience preferred. Experience with stainless steel and/or food processing equipment a plus. Strong English written and oral communication abilities are a must. Ability to work on multiple tasks with little supervision in a fast-paced environment. Initiative to perform duties beyond assignment-specific responsibilities. Ability and willingness to work varied days- Sunday-Saturday for specific projects as required by Production or Customer need. What will you be doing here? Engineer, design, and develop new products.

Provide support and engineer & design updates for existing machines Develop and determine equipment specifications and performance parameters. Create and contribute information that production teams, service teams, sales teams, and customers will use to produce, apply, service, and operate the equipment. Generate bills of material Create shop drawings - primarily in Solidworks, with exposure to Auto CAD Responsible for reviewing sales orders and customer specifications Partner with fellow Engineers and Production team(s) to evaluate cost efficiency, safety & manufacturability of products, providing technical support to production as needed, to ensure design changes are implemented as necessary.

Responsible for meeting design & engineering schedule milestones to support customer expectations Design of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits including selection and specification of components, and creation of schematics. Sizing and specification of power train components such as motors, reducers, belts, pulleys, and gears. Knowledge and use of Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, and Fluid Mechanics. In this role the candidate will drive improvement to our chemical process Delta V (DCS), instrumentation, and high speed manufacturing equipment and their PLC control and HMI systems, our machine networks, and the equipment’s sensors, actuators, etc.

The ideal candidate will be highly capable in process instrumentation sizing, selecting and applications, Allen Bradley 5000 Series PLC’s and lower, Ladder Logic programming, and in the design of manufacturing equipment level electrical control systems and components. Further, they should be knowledgeable in Delta V DCS configuration, Wonderware/Archestr A supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA) or similar, and be driven to take initiative and find ways to improve the equipment in their assigned area.

Manufacturing operations at Orbital ATK run 24x7, and our manufacturing and electrical engineers are ultimately responsible for the operability of the production equipment and data systems. While it should be needed only infrequently, the candidate may be called upon during off-hours should our electricians and electrical technicians encounter a problem they are unable to resolve in the candidates assigned area. Candidate Requirements: • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Controls Engineering/ Technology or equivalent.
