Job Summary The coordinator is responsible for all aspects of ensuring quality in Growing Media and Mulch products at the plant-level, including, but not limited to: formulation oversight and testing; incoming raw material inspection, testing, and approval; ensuring that all established specifications

and processes are followed. The coordinator is also responsible for the plant’s EH&S program to include OSHA, Oldcastle, and EPA requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Oversight and testing of product formulations Inspection, testing, and approval of incoming raw materials Follow all established specifications and processes Investigate and resolve customer quality complaints Administer and maintain EH&S program Routinely inspect/observe plant equipment and activities for safe processes Prepare and submit all required reports to Oldcastle or applicable agency Keep the plant in compliance with EH&S regulations Provide/produce and prepare samples for sales as needed Other duties and

responsibilities may be assigned as needed Requirements / Education / Experience High school degree required; Associates Degree preferred Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions Adequate computer skills Experience with lab and testing procedures preferred Some experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred Some mechanical aptitude or experience with production processing equipment preferred Some experience working with EH&S programs/agencies Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred Interest in Horticulture or Gardening is a plus Skills and Abilities Must be detail-oriented Must be able to problem-solve, with a strong sense of goal attainment Good housekeeping skills required Ability to influence thinking, deal with and overcome resistance and objections, and to motivate change Physical Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear The employee will be required to stand for extended periods of time The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.

Control plans, launch planning as well as metal forming and stamping. In addition to metal stamping, the candidate must understand various manufacturing processes including robotic MIG, TIG and resistance/spot welding. Candidate will be required to visit customers, so good verbal and analytical communication skills are essential.

Some travel will be required. Candidate will be an expert on problem solving techniques and able to lead team problem solving activities. Candidate will be able to deploy poke yoke and continuous improvement activities via sound quality systems. Able to interpret complex technical drawings with a thorough understanding of GD&T, as well as CMM layouts and layout

programming and equipment. Good understanding of statistical process controls and how to implement on the shop floor. Able to conduct gage R&R and process capability studies (CP/CPK).

Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods. Drive continual process improvement techniques in the area of manufacturing and materials. The candidate will lead various Kaizen, 5S, and methods of process improvement. He/she must have excellent analytical skills. Aid in

the training and development of quality technical support personnel in all departments as needed.

He/she must professionally and effectively communicate both internal and external to the organization. Excellent interpersonal skills within a team atmosphere. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE : Minimum of Bachelor degree in an engineering or metal stamping technical field. (5) years minimum proven success as a manager of a technical group in a manufacturing environment. Able to manage quality for multiple manufacturing locations. Minimum of five (5) years working with a metal stamping manufacturer in a technical capacity (quality manager, quality engineering manager, engineering manager) OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required while performing duties in production areas.

Maintain organized schedules and filing Some computer literacy and data entry knowledge.
