n JOB SUMMARYn The Radiologic Technologist Clinic, under general supervision of a Radiologist, performs Diagnostic and/or Fluoroscopic Imaging procedures on ambulatory patients in a Physician Office, or Clinic Setting as requested by a physician or other licensed provider. The technologist must be able to effectively explain the procedure to the patient and be sure they are relaxed and at ease
during the exam and provide care to the patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist.
n ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLEnn Identifies patient service requirements by utilizing AIDET when communicating with patients to ensure they perform the correct exam on the correct patient, establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to know about the service requirements. n Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors. n Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
n Documents pregnancy status of female patients of youth bearing age and the shielding precautions taken in the performance of the imaging study. n Ensures operation of Radiology equipment by performing quality checks following manufacturer's recommendations and trouble-shooting equipment as required, calling in repairs when necessary. n Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to establish inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
n Wears personal monitoring device on collar and outside of apron consistently and submits it promptly and regularly for backssment of occupational dosage. Reports any loss, damage, or unusual events associated with personal monitoring device immediately to the Radiation Safety Office. n Participates in the modality specific QA/QC program and Ensures compliance with regulations. nn KEY SUCCESS FACTORSnn Able to perform high quality radiology procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.

Sanitation/ Custodial - Sweep, vacuum, and/or mop flooring, Deck scrubbing tile and concrete floors, Empty trash cans and deposit trash in appropriate receptacles, Replacing trash liners neatly and clean trash bins and lids- inside and out, Cleaning ground level interior and exterior glass windows and doors, Cleaning walls, Policing grounds for trash and debris, Re-stocking of paper products, soap, and refilling all other dispensers.
Other - Comply with the training of chemicals: use, mixing, storage, and appropriate disposal.
Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ensure they function properly, Keep carts, caddies and storage closets and cabinets orderly Qualifications and Skills Regularly required to stand and walk, and frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Required to be on your feet for extended periods of time. Must frequently squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. Lift and carry up to 25 lbs, and may require occasional lifting and or moving up to 50 pounds. Must be 18 years of age and be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Prior experience in a dining facility preferred but not required.
Must be able to and willing to drive to job site location at North Ft. Cavazos in the Gatesville Area. All employees will receive an hourly travel and uniform allowance.
