JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with PACCAR divisions for collecting vehicle powertrain requirements (i. e. technical requirements and regulatory requirements). Interact with PACCAR divisions for understanding customer requirements and link to collecting customer field data. Translate requirements and powertrain data into target setting for future powertrain configurations. Be the architect for new powertrain topologies and high voltage architectures,
including specification of boundary diagrams, hardware interfaces, and mappings of top-level requirements into specifications at the component level.
Translate powertrain requirements into mathematical objective functions and use these functions to analyze various powertrain configurations and high voltage architectures, and decompose requirements into targets for individual sub-components. Development and maintenance of PACCAR Powertrain zero emission technology roadmap. Maintain relationships with external partners (suppliers, research & educational institutes) for scouting new technologies, leverage knowledge, and keep PACCAR abreast of new technology developments.
Initiate and develop new Advanced Technology projects by building consortia and writing proposals. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Controls, or Systems Engineering. Master of Science in related field a plus. Strong track record in integrating high-voltage powertrain components in automotive applications (high-voltage electrical integration as well as functional integration). Experience in defining automotive high-voltage architectures is required. Proven knowledge in system modeling and describing key characteristics of powertrain components such as performance, efficiency, and lifetime degradation.
