overseeingaccounting functions, including but not limited to, cash management, preparing internal and external financialreports, fixed asset depreciation, and interacting with faculty, staff, and students as it relates to accountingservices functions.

Essential Job Functions: -Posts entries to books from supporting records and compile this information to be used in financialstatements and reports. -Foundation accounting liaison, to include foundation invoicing and payments. -Oversee and prepare month-end closing. -Prepare various reports and assists with audits (state/federal). -Prepare quarterly report of the President's expenses. -Oversee and prepare year-end closing procedures. -Reconcile

cash receipts daily and prepare daily bank deposit(s). -Manage monthly Bank and LGIP reconciliations. -Prepare monthly sales tax return. -Asset Management.

-Monitor complex funding sources and record transactions facilitated by the state for all capital andmaintenance projects. -Record balances due to/from the state and other liabilities, reconcile projects in progress, unexpendedplan and renewal/replacement expenditures and prepare schedules to reconcile capital expense andappropriation totals at year end. -Calculate capitalization values and monitor project status in order to properly classify assets for financialstatement reporting purposes. -Ensure proper detailed records for all

capital assets are maintained and all assets reflect in the totalreported investment in plant for the college.

-Calculate and record annual depreciation of capital equipment and facilities. -Approve capital disposals. -Performs other work duties as assigned. Job Standards: -Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in accounting, business administration or related field. -Five years of related work experience required. Critical Skills, Expertise and Experience: -Knowledge of current accounting theories and practices involving auditing and budgeting procedures. -Knowledge of college, Tennessee Board of Regents, state and federal rules, regulations, procedures andaccounting practices.

-Knowledge of financial reporting requirements of GASB, AICPA, NACUBO and the State of Tennessee. -Knowledge of verbal and written communication skills consistent with interpreting policies andprocedures, providing clear and concise information, and compiling information into complete andaccurate summaries and reports. -Interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships andsupervision of other employees. -Ability to make decisions using sound judgment. Non-Essential Functions: -Ability to work flexible hours.

-Promote, participate in, and support student recruitment and retention efforts. -Serve on various campus committees. -Exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions. Equipment: Work activities routinely involve computers, scanners, and peripheral devices. Location: The Accounting Services Department located on the main campus of Cleveland State Community College is theprimary workplace.
