This position will provide planning and design services within our Transportation practice and be responsible for executing project design tasks with limited oversight. A strong knowledge of roadway engineering, IDOT standards and CAD capabilities are required. Primary Responsibilities Performs design tasks for a variety of transportation improvement projects under the direction of a Sr. Engineer or Project

Manager. Applies local, state, and federal design guidelines and standards to complete transportation, traffic, and drainage related designs. Utilizes design guidelines from IDOT, ITE, NACTO, AASHTO and MUTCD to develop multimodal solutions and alternatives.

Develops specifications and quantity estimates for transportation or site-civil related projects. Develops horizontal/vertical and cross-sectional geometry for roadway and/or drainage projects. Understands and applies the Highway Capacity Manual to complete traffic related designs. Creates plans and bid documents for project deliverables using a variety of design and modeling tools including: Micro Station, Open Roads Designer, Geopak,

Arc GIS, HCS, Synchro and Excel. Coordinates with public/private utilities to document physical location and analyze potential conflicts.

Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements B. S Degree in Civil Engineering and EIT are required. IL PE license is desired. 4+ years of experience as a transportation design engineer with a focus on roadway engineering is required. Experience with roadway projects for IDOT and municipal/county clients is required. Development of bid documents and special provisions is desired. Demonstrated knowledge of the IDOT design manuals, submittals, permitting, and environmental requirements is required. Rural and urban drainage design experience is desired.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with clients and participate in public meetings. Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work as part of a team across multiple offices. Ability to mentor and develop less experienced engineers. Good IT infrastructure technical understanding covering areas such as : Mid-Range, x86, Storage, Backup and Archive, Virtualization, Data Centre, Mainframe, Database, Middleware, Network, Citrix and VDI, Windows 10, Active Directory, Service Desk, Desktop Engineering, Desktop Support, Messaging and Collaboration, Mobility, Public cloud, private cloud, Hyper converged systems etc Good knowledge on various service assurance, automation tools, ITIL / ITSM process and pricing models, IT spend analysis, business case development, TCO and ROI analysis Proven track-record of working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrating strong complex problem-solving skills.

Detail and articulation of solutions and ensure proposal completeness Focused on delivering a high-quality solution to clients, both internal and external. Good knowledge on industry IT trends, Analyst reports and various TPA processes such as Gartner, Everest, Forrester, ISG, BCG, Hf S, IDC etc Good analytical and troubleshooting skills (the ability to think logically through a problem) Able to respond to and resolve client queries and requests in a timely manner Strong IT market awareness and knowledge or emerging trends and technologies.

Able to shape effective, creative and innovative solutions, deliverable at acceptable business profit levels.
