Nurse Extern Med Surg PT Days Position Summary The nurse extern position is recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing and is defined as a student nurse employed by a facility, and currently enrolled in a board-approved or accredited nursing program, who has completed at least their first clinical rotation or is a graduate from a Board-approved or accredited nursing program waiting to take NCLEX.
Nurse Externs are ineligible to work in this role after receiving RN licensure. The purpose of the nurse externship is to enhance education and to facilitate the transition in the RN role
