NATURE & SCOPE OF POSITION: Manage project initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing process in areas of safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency by striving to ensure that all products, processes, and procedures are in compliance with established company policies and specifications to consistently meet or exceed our customer expectations.

This position acts as a liaison between all the major departments and is

intended to be a " growth potential" step in the development of a potential leadership/management role within the organization. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Develops, directs, and implements electrical-related improvements in order to maximize safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Lead all programming and troubleshooting of PLCs related to safety, automation, and control systems. Lead the development of the training requirements for those activities related to safety, quality, and efficiency. Perform root-cause analysis as well as implement sustainable countermeasures on losses related to electrical failures Work with the Maintenance department to develop & execute PMs

that drive improved reliability. Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams in the development of equipment ledgers and problem-solving.

Assist in the development of standard operating/maintenance procedures and work instructions. Maintains records of plant process and/or equipment performance. Supports Autonomous Maintenance initiatives by assisting in the establishment of predictability-based maintenance practices. Key player in developing procedures for improving the reliability of the production equipment. Report all EH&S incidents - Injuries/incidents, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment Damage. Conduct SMAT Audits to support the plant's EHS goals.

Ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities. Participate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions. Participate in the development, understanding, and review of all position JSA and SOP's May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned WORK/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas. Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene.

Noise levels exceed 80 d B in some areas of the site. Moving equipment such as forklifts, buggies, genie booms, and industrial sweepers travel throughout the facility, sometimes in congested areas. Required Qualifications KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES (SKILLS & ABILITIES): BS degree in electrical engineering, a minimum of four (4) years experience in mechanical engineering in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of industrial automation and PLCs. Ability to understand operational excellence principles and tools, such as 5S, SMED, Kaizen, Six Sigma Green Belt, and TPM. Strong computer skills, excellent time management, analytical, and flexibility in adapting to changing situations and business conditions.

CAD or Auto CAD skills and or working knowledge of process engineering software. Ability to diagnose and prioritize opportunities in areas of savings, throughput improvement, and yield improvement. Must be able to design experiments and provide statistical analysis of those trials as to effectiveness. Additional Description PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Travel requirements are 5 -10%. Ability to work with each department throughout the site to improve various processes.

Ability to wear all required PPE, including a respirator, if one is required in an area. Ability to meet varying work schedules when required or requested by the manager. Must be able to meet deadlines with small windows of opportunity, from time to time. Must be alert and engaged, with an appropriate sense of urgency relative to work assignments.
