Additionally support installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of applications software
and related infrastructure. Participate in technical applications and knowledge base development. Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational requirements, including local / enterprise configuration control and information security planning and operational requirements.
Assist project teams with technical issues in execution, testing, roll-out and maintenance of applications. Participate in projects to ensure smooth transition of initiatives from development and modernization/upgrade efforts to production, by performing operations support activities as required. (DME) of mission specific Department of State applications. Applications are currently functioning in a hybrid database environment (mostly SQL and Oracle).
Import/Export data into the database and then use the capability of the database to generate reports and manage the workflow. The database is large, and the data received is not always clean (so there is an ongoing data cleansing need) Manage Team and coordinate with customer leadership to ensure applications operate effectively with external systems. Efficient data transfer to/from large and small Do S and other Agency systems is critical. Basic understanding of related technologies from Excel spreadsheets to Multi-terabyte Oracle databases is relevant.
Tier 3 Support providing solutions to escalated problems with production applications Document fixes in knowledge base articles as appropriate Review and maintain compliance with Department of State Information Assurance policies. Skills: Working technical knowledge of programming languages focusing on Web Development, including HTML/CSS/JS, AJAX, WSDL, and modern application frameworks like Angular or React. Hands on knowledge and experience working in integrated development environments. Hands-on software troubleshooting knowledge and experience.
Knowledge and experience with specific phases of the software development life cycle, especially in requirement analysis, design, development, integration and test, and implementation. Additional exposure would be preferred: Technical knowledge of other programming languages, including Microsoft ASP. NET, VB. NET, C#, and VB6 SQL-related languages and features.
