Assists the physician and/or APRN with medical procedures per county health department procedures Provides Pre/Post HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) counseling to clients, including prevention with the educational component.

Teaches healthy lifestyles, family planning methods, and risk reduction in the clinic and community setting. Advises clients of results and counsels on preventative measures and laboratory results per the procedure or protocols of the unit. Provides education and counseling on side effects, palliative measures and follow up vaccines. This position has responsibilities to case manage for those client's needing treatment and follow-up for interactionually transmitted diseases.

These duties include providing education, scheduling appointments, providing nursing care and services, and follow up related to those needing additional treatment and to those who do not keep their appointment. Dispenses insulin, Epilepsy medications per private physician and/or protocols of Department of Health in Hernando County. Performs date entry of all immunizations given into FL Shots ensuring accuracy and billing information. Assists in reviewing and backssing records for proper documentation for Quality Improvement reviews. Maintains and updates professional knowledge by utilizing educational opportunities in workshops, seminars, in-service and participating in professional and related organizations. Responsible as a " need-to-know" employee for security sets relating to active medical records as it relates to performance of assigned duties and responsibilities for security and confidentiality of same.
