The level of engineer hired will be based on experience. As a Quality Engineer III, you will: Implement, monitor, and audit quality systems and procedures.
Utilize statistical techniques to improve process/product quality and reliability. Coordinate and implement Quality Assurance (QA) activities with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Production in new product introductions. Job Responsibilities Independently designs, develops, and researches new processes or improvements to existing processes, tooling, and equipment. Analyzes gaging requirements and cost, alternatives considered, and development and implementation of quality plans to meet safety,
quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Analyzes Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
Prepares and updates necessary documentation (first piece, inspection instructions, and process potential studies) as defined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for closure. Utilizes statistical techniques, tolerances analysis, process potential studies, and other processes to assure new tooling and equipment meet specifications for corporate SOPs and plant requirements. Develops and implements corrective action plans to bring non-conforming processes or tooling into compliance. Serves as team member with plant operations and production personnel to troubleshoot operational issues on daily basis to determine root cause and support corrective actions.
Spends significant time on production floor; climbs above floor level and around or over equipment, walks on screen guards, or works in other awkward areas of manufacturing environment. May assist with assembly and installation of tooling and equipment, using power and hand tools. Lifts and moves parts weighing up to 70 pounds. Develops and initiates systems to direct and assist others with gathering data for analysis and reporting on plant operations. Oversees/coordinates and maintains corrective action systems (for internal and external failures) so identification, prioritization, and correction of problems occur efficiently and effectively.
Conducts internal and external audits. Participates in and executes quality deliverables to eliminate field problems from customers and production issues for New Product Introduction (NPI) budgets, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) design reviews, gaging, Quality Function Deployment (QFD), and reliability goals to project leader or plant staff as assigned. Develops, maintains, and implements quality/reliability plans for major projects. Monitors test progress to assure compliance to specified parameters.
Provides results to Quality managers or project leaders. Attends supplier equipment and part qualification runs as required to identify and resolve quality problems. This may involve travel, including overnight and international, to supplier sites. Defines and coordinates quality systems consistent Do you have these required qualifications? Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or related field. If no degree, 2 years of engineering experience for every year of education not completed towards a degree. Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and climb/bend/balance in manufacturing environment.

Role description & Responsibilities: Successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Large Structures Center of Excellence (COE) in sustaining and improving an effective quality system as measured by customer satisfaction, product quality, process improvements, and system compliance. While reporting directly
to the Aerospace Structures Quality VP, the successful candidate will have dual reporting responsibilities to the Large Structures COE and lead a team to execute the Quality charter.
Quality functional ownership within the COE includes Quality Engineering, End Item Processes, Customer and Technical Services, Tool and Gauge Quality, Quality Facilities, and Quality Acceptance Testing and Inspection. This Manager supports a growing team of over fifteen including one leader. • Partner with customers to achieve goals and delivery to technical and performance requirements • Participates in the development of overall strategies, objectives, and long-term goals of the organization; is a champion
for mission assurance elements. • Focus on reductions to Cost of Poor Quality through innovation and process improvements using LEAN strategies, SPC, DOE, APQP, 8D and other problem solving and improvement processes.
• Manage/monitor system effectiveness, providing information and metrics internally and to division leadership • Instill Quality culture and behaviors to support significant production rate increases • Responsible for successful Quality Certifications including AS9100, NADCAP and customer oversight activities. • Financial responsibilities for direct planning, budgeting, forecasting, and controls to guarantee quality engineering team efficiency to program EACs.
• Advocate a safe and professional work environment • Develop succession plans and be proactive in coaching and mentoring key talent to assume increased responsibilities • Drive timely and clearly communicated decisions, recommendations, and escalations on behalf of Quality. Minimum requirements: • Experience with high precision manufacturing and assembly working in aerospace, automotive, or similar highly technical factories. • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement principles and methods • Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers to establish and maintain effective relationships • Experience and understanding of Quality System requirements and the intention of systems documentation; to include external certification processes (ISO/TS16949, AS9100, etc.
