Residential Youth Care Worker Responsibilities: Provides the physical care and protection needed for the children Schedules, organizes, encourages and participates in various kinds of games and activities in accordance with the therapeutic planning for the individual child and the other members of the community Maintains that the Cottage is clean and orderly and assists residents with performing chores that correspond with this objective Guides the resident to meet Cottage expectations.
Utilizes a variety of counseling techniques including: listening, giving information, reassurance, as well as support Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent Associate's Degree Preferred Valid NYS
Drivers License Available to work Thurs-Sat 10pm-8am & Sun 4pm-12am Additional benefits include Agency paid: Life Insurance Short Term and Long Term disability Free meals in our onsite cafeteria As a Residential Youth Worker your primary responsibility is to provide care for the youth in our residential setting but your real job, the job you'll remember, is to show these boys what it feels like to have somebody care about them, in return, you'll understand what it means to change the direction of another person's life.
This flexible opportunity with evening and weekend hours will allow you to do something you're passionate about while gaining real-world experience. You'll oversee the
daily and/or overnight care of boys who have experienced trauma.
The Youth Workers aren't sitting on the sidelines observing they are engaged and active with children. You are constantly thinking of ways to keep daily life inclusive and interesting.
