of Mississippi in the areas of Teaching, Research, and Service. The position of Director of Facilities Planning reports to the Vice Chancellor of Administration and Finance. The incumbent works with various members of the University Leadership team to: : Coordinate and plan the Oxford Campus of the University : Coordinate the design of University facilities with outside design professionals to ensure buildings are compatible with the architectural context of the Oxford campus and are designed and built within the available funds while respecting stringent UM standards.

: Have the ability to communicate with a broad range of users to ensure programming of facilities meets the goals of

the administration, faculty, students, and staff : Work as UM leader in building design critique sessions : Use professional experience to champion energy efficiency in all aspects of life on the Oxford campus.

: Encourage design efficiency and sustainability as a primary goal of all projects. This includes buildings (from inception to completion and through useful life), utilities, transport, and landscaping. : Encourage use of measured efficiency design and construction programs such as LEED. : Manage the Director of the Office Of Sustainability and supports the Office's function. Tasks include but are not limited to: : Understand and implement state RFQ protocols for submissions of

interest from architects, engineers, other design professionals : Understand and implement state RFQ protocols for submissions from Owner's Representative firms and/or Construction Management firms for medium and large capital projects : Day: to: day approval and signing documents relating to design and construction projects.

These include applications for payment for services, construction pay requests, change orders : Close understanding of capital buildings schedule, budgets, and overall progress : Coordinate facility planning design and construction for the department of athletics. Coordinate this work with the VCAF : Coordinate contracts with UM's legal office : Coordinate state funding strategies with VCAF and Chancellor : Conflict resolution (as required) : Conduct campus tours to visiting groups and institutions : Initiate UM Utilities Master Plan to be read in conjunction with Architectural MP : Author Greek Architectural Guidelines for the design and construction of Greek buildings on the Oxford campus : Coordinating (and running) special projects Position Description Continued Internal University administration: : Perform evaluations of the performance of the department : Perform evaluation of personnel in Facilities Planning : Coordinate hiring of Facilities Planning staff Representing the University: : Present UM Master Plan and facilities aspirations to parent groups : Make Master Plan presentations; eg: Rotary, UM Foundation, City of Oxford, M: Club, Strategic Planning Council : Represent University of Mississippi at a national level + Canada through the Association of University Architects.

This time must be in the profession of architecture related to higher education facilities.
