Ability to maintain a clean work area by picking up trash and sweeping the floor and disposing of paints and solvents in appropriate location. Throughout and at the end of the shift. Ability to perform and recognize a Commercial

Grade Blast cleaning on steel. Ability to use a wet paint film thickness gauge and dry film thickness gauge.

Ability to use a dial thickness gauge to achieve appropriate anchor profile of required blast. Ability to recognize and properly repair defects in paint finish (ex: runs, holidays and orange peel). Ability to perform basic troubleshooting functions on Airless and Conventional paint spaying equipment. Ability to follow directions, company operating procedure , safety rules and ISO requirements. Ability to work up to 12 hour shifts upon request. Frequently required to work a 6th day (Saturday) during your normal shift, and required to work an occasional 7th day (Sunday).

Physical Demands: Ability to stand and walk on concrete floor continuously for a minimum of 8 hours per day. Ability to lift metal objects of up to 50 pounds frequently for a minimum of 8 hours per day. Ability to pass a breathing test and full-face respirator fitment test. The blaster/painter must be able to hold and a control 100 psi nozzle pressure. They must be proficient in spraying to maintain even mileage. Must possess knowledge of and have experience in different coatings. (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters. ) Must have knowledge of Hazardous waste management.

Some knowledge of rigging. Must be proficient in all Safety aspects of his craft. Must be proficient in QA/QC requirements of his craft. Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting. Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs. Maintains paint equipment to keep it clean and serviceable along with adequate

working stock of paint, stain, tints and equipment. Operates air compressor. Maintains a clean and safe working area. Assists other craftsmen as necessary.

Operates electric golf cart as means of transportation. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required; Five or more verifiable years as a painter. Must maintain a valid driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance, and complete the University Van Driver Training within 90 days of employment date. Must clear and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance Must be able to work evenings and/or weekends as needed Must have the ability to demonstrate basic

skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and common office equipment to include: computer, copier, and Ipad.

Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English; must have ability to read written instructions, warning labels, SDS Sheets in English, understand blueprints and technical drawings. Must possess legible handwriting, possess eyesight in both eyes corrected to 20/20 and normal hearing ability (may be corrected); must s uccessfully pass a PIPIC test for color blindness. Must possess mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in order to compute material costs as required for completion of work order form. Must be able to successfully handle frustrating conditions such as limits on time and limited access to equipment.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Painter must effectively and safely perform, coatings application and all associated phases of industrial coatings. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Applies coatings to various structures, tanks, piping, and miscellaneous surfaces in accordance with customers specifications

and manufacturers recommendations. Assembles, maintain, repairs, and cleans painting equipment. Mix and thin the coatings according to manufacturer's recommendations.

Construct protective enclosures to avoid over spray of customers equipment. Assist in loading, unloading and storage of equipment and supplies. At all times perform his work in the safest possible manner. Immediately correct any unsafe condition. Perform onsite QA/QC functions, including paperwork and evaluation of employees OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep the jobsite clean by keeping it clear of all trash, unused paint materials, etc. Cooperates with Gulf Coast Industrial Project Manager and customers in carrying

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: The blaster/painter must be highly productive, experienced in the multiple crafts involved and be an expert in the mechanic and use of all equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for the safe and effective surface preparation and application of coatings. The blaster/painter must be able to hold and a control 100 psi nozzle pressure. They must be proficient in spraying to maintain even milage. Must possess knowledge of and have experience in different coatings. (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters. ) Must have knowledge of Hazardous waste management.

Some knowledge of rigging. Must be proficient in all Safety aspects of his craft. Must be proficient in QA/QC requirements of his craft.
