Nature and Scope: Is responsible for reviewing, modifying, approval and issuance of product design information to manufacturing department including the calculation of proper product sizing. Is responsible for the continuous improvement of existing processes and the establishment of new processes for increased productivity, cost savings, improved quality and safety. Research, develop, document, and train individuals

in the new processes required for new equipment and new product development. Is responsible for the maintenance and control of all manufacturing and design procedure manuals and must perform Quality Audits as scheduled.

Interfaces with sales, technical personnel, customer service and customers. Promote and participate in the establishment of “One Way Best Way” standard procedures and coordinates with other plants to implement standard processes. Job Responsibilities: Provide written procedures for each operation in the form of SPIs and ISO 9001 procedures to ensure the consistent and proper manufacturing of all products. Work with Development personnel in the implementation of new products

and processes. Provide day-to-day (troubleshooting) technical support and assistance regarding correction of problems with manufacturing processes, equipment (including Syteline ERP system), damages, process variation, etc.

Ensure that new procedures and/or processes are implemented on a timely basis to include communications, training, and follow-up for both production and supervisory personnel. Develop new or modified procedures and processes to improve quality and/or cost, ensuring they are standard with other plants. Ensure that deviations from SPIs are reported, recorded, and investigated, and recommend corrective measures for deviations. Ensure ‘safety first’ is incorporated in all SPIs.

Cover other areas of Manufacturing and Quality Assurance as required. Perform work on special projects or assignments as required by Plant Manager. Participate in new product/process development programs with on-site experimental work. Solve operating and product problems and continuously improve existing products and processes. Participate in the transfer of technology to and from other plants and divisions. Determine what adaptations are required to match product properties between plants. Perform Internal Quality Audits as scheduled. Develop, implement, update and administer Environmental & Safety Regulatory Compliance Procedures for the plant.

Ensure that proper handling, storage, use, testing and record keeping of all radiation measuring gauges are maintained in accordance with all regulatory agency standards and guidelines. Job Requirements: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of textile processes. Must be familiar with statistical methods. Must have good analytical, computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.

U. S. History with a concentration in the American South. Additional subfields may include public history, oral history, and/or African-American history. Faculty hired in this position will teach a 2:2 load in undergraduate and graduate courses as well as supervise graduate students in both History and Southern Studies.
