Physical Requirements: The incumbent must be able to lift weights up to 23 kilograms (50 lbs) obtaining assistance when necessary. Incumbent must have good eyesight, coordination and dexterity. Work is mostly sedentary (frequent sitting is necessary when engraving), however, work does require periods of standing. The
work performed is tedious and requires extreme accuracy. The Apprentice must learn to use a magnifying glass for all of his/her engraving operations. The highest degree of patience and concentration are prime factors in the hand engraving of an original die produced to the high standards required to prevent counterfeiting.
