Responsibilities : • Design, development, integration, and testing of embedded software for a network security appliances, including device management software, communication protocols, device drivers, and control plane security features • Work closely with a team software engineers to ensure implementation
meets the product requirements • Socialize designs with team and integrates suggestions and changes as appropriate. Unit test software components to ensure module-level functionality and data structure consistency • Participate in design and implementation/code reviews of other team members • Work with implementation teams to derive and document appropriate designs for the problem space • Create required project documentation in support of contract deliverables.
Including development plans, requirement and design specifications, and test documents • Resolve issues found during engineering test in a timely manner, taking risk into account. Consistent use of group tools for tracking of
defects and management of code. Implement code in a timely fashion.
Qualifications/Experience Needed : • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience • Experience in large complex software/hardware developments and embedded development • Knowledge of memory management, pthreads, inter-process communication, IPC and synchronization methods, strong software and hardware debugging skills (e. g. GDB, KGDB, JTAG probes) • Expert in C or/and C++ • Understanding of network security protocols and algorithms (e.
g. TLS, SSL, encryption, Open SSL, X.509 Certificates, etc. ) • Experience using embedded Linux (kernel and user levels) or like RTOS • Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, and ICMP • Excellent organizational, decision making and communication skills • Active Do D Secret (or higher) Clearance Security Clearance : • Active and transferable U. S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date • U. S. citizenship is required, as only U. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (Do D) security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 176,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
