requirements of the final product. Working knowledge of Solid Works with relative design experience. Possess a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances. Ability to manage production and project tooling budgets. Support quoting opportunities with estimating project tooling costs.
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time including support production team. Work with tooling vendors to manage capacity and ensure necessary tooling arrive on time. Responsible for all activities of tooling from design, quoting, procurement, and implementation. Interface with manufacturing to solve problems relating to processes, fixtures and materials. Assemble tooling components as
needed. Lead tooling DFMEA and PFMEA events to flush out potential problems before tooling is purchased. Produce customer models for CMM programming. Ability to calculate proper fit, drafts, and understand best materials application related to tooling application.
Designing for manufacturing with understanding of cost implications. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Engineering design background - with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment - experience with diecasting, complicated assembly, and automation preferred. LEAN manufacturing experience a plus. Solid Works experience/knowledge. 3D printer experience a benefit. Working conditions May be exposed
to industrial oils, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesives and other chemicals.
Level of travel may be required: minimal. Working hours are generally 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday - Friday. Intermittent overtime may be required as needed during periods of high tooling demand. Generally working in office setting with activities in production environment. Could require intermittent and long periods of sitting &/or standing.
