Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a candidate with outstanding leadership skills to fill a Cyber Systems Engineering Manager 2 position for a new and exciting effort located in Melbourne, FL. This is a dual role position encompassing both people leadership and direct technical performance. This position will manage a team that may support multiple programs, projects and initiatives. Defense Systems (NGDS) seeks to fill a Manager Level 2 position in the Cyber Systems Engineering Group (CSEG), Strike organization for our Melbourne, FL campus.

This Manager of Cyber Systems Engineering position is a dual-role management position. The first role is as the CSEG Functional Manager for the Cyber Engineering Team supporting the Strike portfolio of programs. The second role is performing technical responsibilities for Strike Cyber Systems Engineering. This position will report directly to the CSEG Manager responsible for the teams supporting engineering efforts across multiple business portfolios within our Restricted Programs Sustainment and Operations (RPSO) Operating Unit.

The position is based in Melbourne, FL, but will require periodic travel to Northrop Grumman, subcontractor, and customer site locations. From a functional perspective, the Functional Manager duties include: Provide Engineering functional oversight for a team of cyber systems engineers; this includes active employee engagement, career development, conducting employee performance reviews and merit planning, mentoring, and training Promote adherence to our engineering processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality work products and reduce risk on the program; champion the tenants of the Mission Systems Engineering Playbook that provide a competitive advantage for our customers Staffing and workload forecasting; recruit new talent, to include entry-level positions as well as experienced candidates for mid and senior-level positions, to meet staffing commitments Support ongoing acquisition and maintenance of team member Cyber qualifications, including Cyber certifications From a direct program support perspective, the Cyber Engineering Team lead duties include: Take responsibility for the more complex Cyber Engineering tasks and expedite resolution of high priority and/or urgent program challenges Act as a cyber-generalist in supporting the various Cyber Engineering teams Leverage existing capabilities in Cyber System Engineering to support team efforts, specifically regarding cyber requirements and implementation across other segments performing development on programs in the portfolio Maintain ongoing awareness and understanding of the Cyber sub-IPT Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and support the Cost Account Manager (CAM) in status and execution support for all technical tasks The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate success in applying leadership characteristics to achieve sustainable top performance, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.

The successful candidate must also possess the ability to balance programmatic needs to deliver results within cost, schedule, and quality parameters while encouraging and rewarding innovative behaviors through all levels of the organization. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are essential.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must have demonstrated strong abilities to collaborate and lead virtually as a part of a geographically dispersed team. Finally, the successful candidate must have demonstrated success in influencing the direction of technology discriminators, including identifying and championing change within the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the business. NGSkills Basic Qualifications: Must have an active Secret Clearance, with a PR within last 5 years. Must be able to obtain Special Program Access prior to onboarding and then maintain.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and 13 years of related experience. Will consider Bachelor's degree with 9 years of technical experience in any combination of Cyber Systems, Software, or Hardware engineering disciplines accompanied by high proficiency in technical problem solving to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development; Master's degree with 7 years of experience; or Ph D with 4 years of experience. Must have proven technical management experience preferably in either program IPT, R&D or Advanced Systems, technology, and/or functional environments.

Working knowledge of Program Execution, Staffing, Engineering Metrics and Training resources, Processes, and Tools. Must have a current Do D 8570 IAM Level II Certification (CISSP, CAP, CISM). Or current Do D 8570 IAM Level I cert (Security+) with the ability to obtain a level 2 cert within 6 months. The purpose of ML2, located at Kennedy Space Center (KSC), is to provide a launch platform for the Space Launch System (SLS), an advanced launch vehicle that will fill America’s need for deep space missions. ML2 includes many different subsystems that must operate and fit within the constraints of the structure and provide physical interface with KSC launch sites’ ground systems. This is a short

term assignment and the expected duration is 6 months Position Summary: This role will support design development Structural engineering designs for the project by modifying and updating GSTRUDL structural steel models and providing responses to request for information from the Steel fabricator.

Responsibilities: Originate and check complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel calculations and specifications. Originate, check, and modify complex structural analysis models using GT STRUDL. Reviews and coordinates technical documents with/from other engineering disciplines. Prepare technical reports relates to specific design issues. Provides technical direction to designers and less experienced engineers as directed.

Assist in constructability reviews. Skills and Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: BS Degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural or related), from an accredited university, with at least 6 years of relevant experience. US citizen or legal resident. Must be able to complete and pre-employment drug screen and background check Minimum Qualifications: Proficient in the use of structural analysis software GTSTRUDL. Familiar with the use of Mathcad or similar software. Ability to independently perform structural steel building/tower analysis.

Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally. Excellent listening, oral and written communication, planning and organizational skills are essential. Experience with CADD applications, such as Micro Station, Tekla and Navis Works. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen, and background check. Preferred Qualifications: Have a U. S. Professional Engineering (PE) license. Proficient in the use of Mathcad or similar software. Thorough knowledge of the provisions of AISC Steel Manual & ASCE 7.

Familiar with Bechtel standard programs. Familiar with all Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs) and their application to projects. Knowledge of design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPS). Necessary skills to present technical subjects with competence and confidence. Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, and material requisitions and of construction methods for concrete and steel structures. Salary Range: $181,000 - $271,600The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
