2D mechanical drawings for custom finishing equipment and components. Collaborate with the engineering team on developing 3D design processes. Use CAD programs to create conceptual designs during the drawing approval process.
Coordinate with sales engineers to analyze design documents and plans to verify dimensions and materials. Capable of developing models of individual components as well as complete engineering. Solid understanding of product design and mechanical engineering principles. Accurate, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision. Required Education and Experience: Associate degree in mechanical drafting, or CAD certification plus 2 years of relevant work experience preferred. Essential Responsibilities: Evaluate customer specifications by providing a detailed technical review, providing comments, clarifications, and exceptions, and requesting missing or additional information. Develop the detailed design of Specialty Boilers including all calculations and auxiliary equipment selection per specification requirements. Generate the technical
portion of the Sales proposal. Generate auxiliary equipment specifications at the proposal and project stages. Evaluate related bids and make recommendations for equipment supplier selection.
Develop data sheets for Estimating, Sales, Instrumentation & Controls, Engineering and Drafting groups. Support the team with technical issues through all stages of project execution. Actively participate in technical meetings with the customer at various stages of project development. Capable of developing good working relationships with clients and internal customers. Driven to perform tedious calculations with precise results. Able to excite clients with the product design and convince them that they are buying the best product available. Formal Education: Four-year college education in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering; position requires a minimum 3.4/4.0 overall GPA. Experience: 5 - 8+ years of experience in heat recovery Travel approximately 10-20% of the time by plane or car. Available to support product training, customer meetings, or supplier meetings.
