Number of beds: 40 beds, all private beds. Primary patient population/diagnoses:1) Medical diagnosesa) Cardiac diagnoses(1) Stable patients with acute coronary syndrome(2) Stable patients with decompensated CHFb) Endocrine disorders, including, but not limited to, diabetesc) End-of-life care when transferring to home or an inpatient hospice setting is not realistic based on life expectancyd) GI disorders, including, but not limited to, Crone's disease, obstructione) Neurological disorders, acute and chronic, including,
but not limited to: (1) Brain injury(2) Multiple sclerosis(3) Seizure monitoring with EEG telemetry(4) Spinal cord injuryf) Oncology diagnoses, including, but not limited to: (1) Conditions related to the cancer, e.
g. chemotherapy, neutropenia, symptom management related to treatment, crisis management and/or pain control. (2) Specific care related to oncologic conditions and surgery. g) Pulmonary, including, but not limited to: (1) COPD(2) Respiratory isolationh) Psychiatric patients requiring acute medical intervention2) Overflow surgical patients as per surgical scope of service, room availability permitting Responsibilities The RN Charge Nurse is accountable for the direct coordination
and supervision of unit operations. Serves as a role model and resource for patient care.
Provides leadership and promotes team-building among staff. Facilitates communication between staff, physicians, management and all other customers. Is responsible for effective implementation of policies, procedures and standards. Qualifications Education: Academic degree in nursing (BSN or MSN/MN) required. Experience: One year of relevant clinical experience at proficient to expert level of practice required. Demonstrated knowledge of operations, including staffing and scheduling, budget management, workflow planning, performance management and staff development.
Skills: Ability to manage a broad span of control through implementation of a self-directed team approach. Strong communication and leadership skills, and a willingness to lead by example. Must meet requirements of RN Staff Nurse Job Description and performs duties in any clinical capacity as needed.
