Summary The Department of Environmental Health Sciences in the School of Public Health at the University is seeking an enthusiastic Research/Data Analyst to curate and analyze a nationwide dataset from the Apple Hearing Study , an exciting cooperative project between Apple and UM that is exploring noise exposures and hearing impacts in the United States.

The person in this position will work as part of a team that is responsible for data management, organization, and statistical analysis for this big data project, which has already yielded a dataset of billions of data points. We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, critical thinker who is adaptable,

creative, and responsible and who can provide analysis and data management on this project. The ideal applicant will: Be curious and interested in learning Have a passion for programming/data science Be detail-oriented Be a team player This position is a term limited appointment that is anticipated to be extended based on available funding.

Responsibilities Work in conjunction with existing Research Analyst to clean, connect, merge, aggregate, document, and manage Apple Hearing Study data, as well as other data. Suggest, develop, and conduct appropriate data analyses for all study questions as necessary in collaboration with other team members. Contribute to research team discussions

regarding types and execution of data analyses, programming and data management issues, and study and analysis documentation.

Troubleshoot and document issues as they arise with the appropriate persons at Apple. Curate datasets for other team members (non-analyst staff and graduate students) upon request. Use study results to help prepare written and graphical materials for peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and public outreach. Provide monthly updates to the research team for quality control and quality assurance. See projects and analyses through while following methodological steps. Follow appropriate systems and protocols in order to remotely access study data in secure, offsite cloud storage, in cooperation with staff at Apple to maintain and ensure data privacy and security.

Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Informatics, Data Science/Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Public Health, or related field of study.2+ years of experience conducting data quality control, data analysis and data management activities of large to very large datasets. Advanced skills in Python 2/3. Intermediate experience with either R or Spark. Experience identifying and using appropriate statistical approaches and models using programming languages to answer questions related to health.

Interest and experience applying data science techniques to public health or clinical research. Ability to write clear analytical documentation, summaries of analytical methodologies, and descriptions of statistical results, as well as create charts, tables, and other visual aids. Have the ability to work both as a team member and independently while being consistently detail-oriented. Desired Qualifications Master's Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Informatics, Data Science/Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Epidemiology, or related field of study.

Advanced experience with more than one of the following languages/coding platforms; R, Python, or Spark. Familiarity with SQL, shell scripting languages (e. g. Bash) and cluster computing to handle big data (e. g. datasets consisting of billions of datapoints). Experience applying unsupervised machine learning methods and models to public health or clinical research. Experience with development, organization, and documentation of workflow and file management among several data analysts. Experience with remote data access, complex data structures, and linkages between data sources.

Additional Information This position will be in the Exposure Research Lab in the Environmental Health Sciences Department in the School of Public Health. Dr. Rick Neitzel is the PI of this lab and will directly supervise this position. Our research focuses on exposure backssment for various hazards that affect human health and safety at work, at home, and in the community. We work in both domestic and international research settings. Much of our current work focuses on occupational and community noise exposure, hearing health, environmental justice, and workplace injuries.

The person in this role will primarily work on the Apple Hearing Study. This project is a close collaboration with a team at Apple with whom we have multiple meetings per week to exchange ideas and tasks. The person in this role will work inside of an Apple-curated cloud-based data ecosystem to perform data analysis. The Merit Support Center (MSC) offers 24/7 first-level support for all Merit services, including network connectivity, cloud services, and administrative support to Merit Members and Customers. The MSC combines Network Operations and service support delivered over the network, requiring MSC Analysts to have a technical background in networking and customer support.

You will report to the Senior Manager of the Merit Support Center. You will track and ensure the resolution of a wide range of problems. This includes handling networking components (routers, switches, fiber or leased circuits, power equipment), IT infrastructure (servers and applications), and other Merit services.

You will collaborate with the Director of Network Operations to support evening maintenances across the network and serves as the first contact in evening On Call situations. You will be part of the Technology Operations team, which includes Merit's Network Engineering department, offering a unique opportunity to learn and grow with the help of resources from multiple departments.

Responsibilities Essential Functions for this position are followed by an (E).

The Merit Support Network Engineer position's main responsibilities include the following: Approximately 40% of a MSC Network Engineer's time and duties are needed to - Deliver customer-focused service in technical resolution and customer service. Monitor multiple alarm systems and respond to alerts promptly and effectively. Identify complex problems, develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions. Create and maintain service tickets with up-to-date analysis. Ensure service issues are triaged, worked on, and escalated with minimal customer impact. Communicate timely and frequently with customers and our teams regarding availability issues.

Work both individually and in a team setting, ensuring a smooth handover of problems across shifts. Approximately 60% of a MSC Network Engineer's time and duties are needed to - Help with commissioning, installing, testing, and maintaining network infrastructure. Support infrastructure including installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation. Escalate incidents with vendors to resolve service performance, functionality, and availability issues. Responsible for asset tracking and database updates.

Provide customer education and technical support. Lead fiber restoration efforts for vendors/providers. Support Network Operations maintenances, including field deployment, and device configurations. Attend occasional Network Operations trainings on new technology, devices, and procedures. Continue professional development and cross-team collaborations in the network engineering field. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in networking or related field, or equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience. Ability to work fixed schedules outside of normal business hours, and holidays. Minimum of two years of experience with network engineering infrastructure. Experience with improving an organization's capability, effectiveness, and reputation. Essential hardware knowledge and problem-solving skills. Experience with network-based service monitoring and management tools, focusing on troubleshooting and service issue resolution.

Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as IPERF, Multicast Beacons, OTDR, and optical power meters. Knowledge of host-based services and familiarity with Unix and Windows. Knowledge of Fiber and Optical infrastructure and Dynamic and Static IP routing protocols (BGP and OSPF). Knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, networks, and applications, including TCP/IP networking, sub- netting and routing protocols, multicast, IPv4, IPv6, and Voice over IP. Availability for Overtime as scheduling requires. Desired Qualifications Experience with 24x7 environment relating to service support procedures.

Experience with network monitoring. Familiarity with analysis tools such as Zenoss or Arbor Network tools. Optical network experience. Experience with operating Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Firewalls. Experience in being part of an incident response team. Experience with Confluence, JIRA, and Request Tracker. Experience working with higher education, K-12 educational institutions, libraries, research institutions and other public sector non-profit organizations is a plus. Surgery unit. It takes care of all adult orthopedic patients including total joint replacements and repair of fractured hip patients. Our experienced nursing staff provides excellent Relationship Based Care and is devoted to the orthopedic population. We are Joint Commission

Certified for total knee and total hip replacements. This unit includes 32 private patients' rooms each with a private bathroom and shower. Our patient population consists mainly of Total Knee and Total Hip Replacements, hip fracture patients, and general orthopedic patients.

We also accommodate general medicine patients. SUMMARY: Provides quality patient centered care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs through competent clinical practice and application of the nursing process. Consistently integrates concepts of relationship based care into practice. Serves as a clinical and educational resource to others on the unit. Assumes accountability for nursing

care of designated patients. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Gathers and analyzes patient information Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care Uses teach back methodology to educate patient and family Actively seeks to prevent potential hospital acquired Effectively communicates patient status, priority goals and interventions during consultations, rounds and handoffs Follows all HIPAA policies and procedures Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals Requirements Graduation from accredited nursing program. Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.

Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
