Disseminate research results through presentations and publications in scientific reports and peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Write proposals for outside funding to support research when practical. Assist management agencies in evaluating the migratory behavior and survival of fish in the river, estuary, nearshore, and ocean along with the ecosystem processes that affect growth and survival in these contrasting environments. Lead efforts to link field science and modeling relevant to protected salmon. Build relationships

and collaborations with a diverse group of scientists from Tribes, federal and state agencies, academic institutions and other entities. Responsible for all management and administrative responsibilities/functions incumbent upon a supervisor.

Mentor and support employees is in presenting and publishing their own findings in peer-reviewed journals. Provide supervision and mentoring to all staff and oversight to contractors, associates, students, and volunteers working alongside Federal employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position will be filled under the DOC Alternative Personnel Systems (CAPS). This system replace the Federal GS pay plan and structure. Under CAPS, positions

are classified by career, pay plan, and pay band. The ZP-4 is equivalent to the GS-13/14.

Salary Ranges: Hammond, OR: $98,496 - $151,308 Newport, OR: $98,496 - $151,308 Pasco, WA: $98,496 - $151,308 Seattle, WA: $109,546 - $168,283 NOTE: A three year probationary period for research positions may be required. A one year supervisory probationary period may be required. These probationary periods may be served concurrently. Payment of relocation incentive may be authorized. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e. g. Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations e. g. professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
