Electronic Publication Specialist (EPS) Job Description: Creation and development of DTDs, FOSIs, Arbortext Styler style sheets, XSLT and XSL-FO. Responsible for code (tagging) files in XML using various plain ASCII text editors and Arbor Text software and parsing all created files against army file standards (DTDs, MIL_STDs, ARs, etc) for TMs, MWOs, DMWRs, SBs, TBs, and any other army publication.

Read and comply with various Live DTDs to properly tag XML files in a plain ASCII text editor. Test and analyze converted XML files against source deliverable to locate any discrepancies; resolve technical issues with complex and/or problematic files. Use existing macros and regular expression

scripting in plain ASCII text editor to convert the content from PDF deliverable into XML ensuring compliancy with the required Military Standards. Mentoring junior team mates and building their skill sets Desired Skills: Experience in converting a technical manual from an old MIL-STANDARD to the newest MIL- Standard, rearranging information as needed, pointing out missing information, using existing macros in Ultra Edit to convert the information from PDF into.

XML ensuring compliancy with Military Standards.. Experience in reading a Live DTD to tag XML files in a plain ASCII text editor. Experience in code (tagging) using Arbor Text 5.0 and higher. Experience in code (tagging) XML files

in accordance with MIL-STD 40051, MIL-STD-38784, MIL-PRF-63029, and AR 25-30.

Experience in tracking and reporting all daily tasking and project progression. Strong customer focus and teamwork skills required. Participate in technical trade studies that support mission requirements and integrate analysis data from various Exploration Analysis Cycles: (Architecture Analysis Cycles (AACs), Requirement Analysis Cycles (RACs), and Exploration Mission Analysis Cycles (EMACs).

Support/Lead integration of mission specific analyses to backss system performance and requirements, and to develop scenarios, approaches, and concepts of operation. Support the integration of analyses, along with general backssments of systems, missions, and resulting architecture to recommend solutions, forward work, and potential trade studies.

Specific support to be provided and performed includes, but is not limited to, the following: Support the ACD SE&I Architecture & Baseline Definition (ABD) team by providing SE&I expertise, integration support, and leadership in the areas of enterprise level " End-to-End" Interfaces Management, and Integrated Testing, specifically: o Perform Interface Requirement Document (IRD) & Interface Control Document (ICD) product reviews and risk backssments, and IRD & ICD development via working groups. o Development of reporting tools and products for on-going backssments and milestone reporting.

Support the planning efforts and requirement definition needed for an extensible and scalable communications and navigation architecture. Perform technical integration across multiple NASA Centers, diverse engineering and program/project organizations, and a variety of engineering disciplines. Integrate across the ACD Programs/Projects to define and document a mission capability summary for overall mission planning. Qualifications: A degree in mechanical, aerospace, or systems engineering or degree in an equivalent field of study is required as well as experience supporting requirements development, space mission planning, or the development of payload integration requirements supporting the ISS, SLS, or equivalent Do D programs.

Position Description: Candidate will provide systems engineering, requirements management, verification and validation (V&V) coordination, and element/system level integration support to the MSFC Systems Requirements, Verification & Validation Branch (EV73) for support to the Space Launch System (SLS) Stages Office element, and to the MSFC Systems Engineering and Integration Division (EV70).

The successful candidate will coordinate and interface with multiple engineering disciplines, system elements, cross-program elements and customers, as well as participate in reviews, meetings, working groups, task teams,

and trade studies. The candidate will supply leadership and/or support for the development of key systems engineering products including requirements specifications, support program/project milestones and subsequent activities where these products are backssed and matured.

The successful candidate will work with the SLS Stages element customers/partners from inception to deployment to ensure stakeholder needs are satisfied. System engineering support to be provided by the candidate includes the following responsibilities: Lead and/or support development of Stages element requirements and verification products and ensure compliance with these requirements during development, testing and evaluation of Stages sub-elements.

Provide technical integration with other engineering disciplines, the Stages Program element and cross-program elements, including risk-based insight/oversight through backssment of requirements and verification activities. Support the Stages Lead Systems Engineer and Engineering Discipline Lead Engineers to evaluate prime contractor deliverables, including backssments of element Detailed Verification Objectives and verification of allocated end item specification requirements. Perform systems engineering tasks and backssments to support the SLS Stages Program through reviews, meetings, working groups, trade studies and development of key systems engineering products to support program milestones.

Develop integrated schedules and other tracking mechanisms to manage the work and identify risks and opportunities. Implement Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) best practices, approaches, techniques, and tools. Provide support for requirement V&V including V&V planning, execution, coordination, and integration for system level requirements to assure design compliance. Communicate technical issues, risks, best practices and lessons-learned related to products, technical positions, requirement management, and V&V practices and develop integrated schedules and other tracking mechanisms to manage systems engineering tasks.

Qualifications: A degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a BS degree in a related technical discipline from an ABET accredited institution is required. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a BS degree with at least 15 years of relevant experience in systems engineering and integration, launch vehicle definition, functional design, design integration, launch vehicle performance analyses, flight evaluation planning, requirement verification, and/or requirement validation.

Required: Ability to function in a self-directed dynamic work environment as an effective team member, willing to assume a leadership role in the Stages systems engineering effort. Experience in developing systems requirements, verification strategies, and verification planning as well as facilitating the successful completion of verification compliance activities. Familiarity with Systems Engineering policies and procedures related to verification and experience with using tools/systems to manage verification compliance data.

Demonstrated experience working across organizational boundaries and engineering disciplines to facilitate and execute program systems engineering tasks and resolve systems integration issues. Demonstrated experience developing and delivering executive-level briefings, excellent oral, written, and customer relation skills, and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook). Desired: Demonstrated experience in effective technical leadership of an engineering team. An understanding and knowledge of the current SLS program and a working understanding of the SLS Element interfaces.

Knowledge of launch vehicle programmatic planning processes and experience performing oversight of prime contractor hardware production, test, and certification efforts. Familiarity with NASA Systems Engineering policies and procedures. Familiarity with aerospace vehicle and system design. Experience with defining and managing interfaces, interface requirements, and interface verification. Experience with Digital Engineering Tools, such as: DOORS Next Generation, Jira, Magic Draw, or similar tools. Certification in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), particularly Object Management Group (OMG)-Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Certification.
