Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest. Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

Choose only ONE of the following per the position’s telework designation: Full-Time Telework: Full-Time or Part-Time Telework: This position is a full-time role that offers full-time or part-time telework in accordance with current business requirements and works a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. This position requires periodic travel to the Richland, Washington project office.

Please be advised that the telework designation of the position may be changed in the future at the discretion of the company or project. Position Summary: Performs activities involved with the analysis, definition, specification, development, testing, documentation, and the installation of new and/or existing applications. Determines user requirements, performs application design, establishes priorities, and reports progress to the WTP Applications Manager. Responsible for the creation of prototypes and other methodologies for new and or existing systems. Responsibilities: Responsible for the development of new web-based forms, modifications to existing forms, and basic administration of the electronic forms applications.

Responsible for the development of new reports, modifications to existing reports, and basic administration of the reporting applications. Gathers functional customer requirements and transform those into required technical development. Performs analysis, design and development of software applications that are scalable at an enterprise level. Executes project activities in own specialized technical area of information systems including application support, software engineering, software quality, business analysis and database administration.

Installs, configures and upgrades database/application software and tools in support of operational systems and the development of test environments. Performs assignments independently with instructions as to the general results expected. Receives technical guidance as appropriate from a senior team member on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects. Makes frequent contact with users as necessary to gather or give status information, address project automation needs and requirements.

Contacts information systems vendors representatives as needed for gathering information and product evaluation. Provides support to end user customers in IS&T and other Bechtel functions, as required. Develops programming specifications from business requirements in consultation with end users. Creates design specifications, test plans and automated test scripts for project work scope. Skills and Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems from an accredited college or university, with 3 years of related work experience.

In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, high school diploma or equivalent, with 9 years of progressive experience required. Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (even if teleworking, must be able to must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge) Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship. HTML.

ASP. NET. Designing web forms. Visual Studio. Power BI. SQL Server Reporting Services. Experience writing basic SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Good analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to understand customer requirements and expectations Capable of designing form and report solutions to meet user departmental needs. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities. Must be able to follow established quality methods and procedures.

Excellent focus on customers, peers and key vendor relationships, to ensure expectations are met. Ability to follow instructions and processes to plan and manage the orderly implementation of change. Knowledge of web-based technologies including web page development, maintenance and web-based tools and utilities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in design and development of user interfaces for form and reporting applications Experience with Power Platform tools to solve business problems with automation and apps Knowledge of software development methodologies, tools and processes including Software Development Methodology Framework, source code control, application development tools and techniques, database design, development and management programming languages and completed integrated and mobile delivery technologies Experience with recent Oracle and SQL Server database versions and features Experience with SQL Server Integration Services Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager and other monitoring tools Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server architecture, installation, configuration, maintenance and patching procedures Specialized course in general information systems or relevant information systems disciplines, and broad prior work experience in information systems or relevant experience in other information systems and technology discipline Bechtel’s internal staffing policy includes the minimum time that you need to be in your current position before applying to a new position.
