The Family Support Specialist focuses on enhancing and supporting parenting skills and to identify and resolve problems before and after children return home.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST: Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources. Analyze client situations and
capabilities to determine services needed to address safety concerns. Implement, evaluate and review safety backssments and plans. Provide parent coaching during child/family interaction visitation.
Intervene when necessary to prevent inappropriate behavior or to promote productive interactions. Provide designated parent curriculum in individual or group settings. Act as an on-call resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families. LOCATION: Office is based in Janesville, WI. Local travel is required to meet with clients in Rock County. Position offers some flexibility to work remote when not meeting with clients. Must be
able to meet in-person with clients in Rock County, Wisconsin. SCHEDULE: Hours of work are varied/flexible and may include evenings and/or weekends to accommodate clients' needs.
