Are you ready to make a difference? The Position The Associate Scientist I will provide technical expertise and execute laboratory research strategies in support of the related research area. This position will be responsible for providing peer leadership and technical support

in the laboratory for research experiments and data integrity.

Relationships Reports to of the head of Neurobiology at NN in Boston. Internal relationships include working closely with technical staff & other members of the scientific leadership team; regular collaborations with members of other research departments at NN Boston; & frequent interaction with project managers & other colleagues in Denmark. Individual may interact with external research collaborators both academia- & industry-based. Essential Functions Hands on experimental effort Complete complex, diverse projects that require a strong technical and scientific understanding related to the research area Demonstrates a breadth of knowledge and skills to support the development and management of research protocols of moderate to high complexity to advance multiple drug discovery efforts Develops, optimizes, & drafts protocols for methods of moderate complexity with no input from supervisor; activities of high complexity with reduced input from supervisor.

Drafts SOPs per team and company standards, trains staff, and provides assistance with data analyses and interpretation Conducts data collection, accurately interprets experimental data and formulates conclusions, and may communicate data externally.

Ensures proper documentation of experimental data, including maintaining laboratory notebook Collaborative teamwork Actively participates in cross-functional teams to provide support when needed Actively participates in virtual global team meetings regularly Achieves business goals, shares learnings, knowledge and skills and promotes cross-functional teamwork Shares knowledge, mentors peers, and promotes cross-functional team work to ensure implementation of best practices in the laboratory Scientific input Presents updates and results to cross-functional teams, site and global project teams Makes independent decisions related to day to day experimental activities to meet study timelines Contributes to milestone/project documentation Completes assignments requiring an expert level knowledge of techniques and practices related to the research area Manages site inventory.
