Processing Roles--- This role is responsible for daily on-the-floor verifications and observations including, but not limited to, Process Operating Guides (POG), Process Procedures, Process Change Processes, Process Specifications, Point of Process Expectations (POPE), POPE verifications, and DNA Process Control Program. The candidate will be required to familiarize themselves with electronic programs within the plants such as Ignition,
Brandassets/Bynder, Tracegains, Matrix, and Oracle. III. Sensory Evaluation Roles--- This role is responsible for the daily gathering of products, both routine and requested, and execution of the S.
C. O. P. E sensory evaluations. S. C. O. P. E evaluations include WIP (Work in Progress), finished products, and FFP (For Further Processing) product such as pre-sliced logs. In addition to the daily evaluations, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring current photos and descriptions are uploaded. IV. The role requires the individual to work cross-functionally with all Plant and Corporate Departments. V. An enthusiastic interest in new processing technologies and adapting new technologies
to products and processes will be expected. VI. Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
The ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances, resolve conflict, and gain trust and support from all disciplines with minimal assistance is essential. Duties I. Verify plant processes through on-the-floor observations for a minimum of 4 hours daily with the POPE (Point of Process Expectations). II. Verify Process Operating Guides and Process Procedures when requested III. Assist on any process audits, Process systems testing, and DNA process control functions. IV. Gather all product needed for SCOPE and perform daily SCOPE evaluations by preparing the product for presentation and inputting data.
V. Ensure SCOPE program is current in both pictures and descriptions VI. Communicate and coordinate effectively with cross-functional groups (R&D, Procurement, Engineering, Cost Accounting, Manufacturing, and Quality) on quality and process control related projects and issues. VII. Accountable for driving successful actions and maintain measurable improvement. VIII. Assist in data collection and root cause analysis in any investigations internal or external. IX. Assist in training to plant supervision and other support to resolve processing problems and maintain consistent product quality.
X. Be an advocate for Protecting the Brand by not compromising quality for other gains. XI. Support your local team at the plant by being a true process partner that supports operational needs/initiatives while keeping the team aligned with our approved processes. Education and Experience I. 1-3 years' experience working in a production/manufacturing environment; preferably in meat processing or similar food processing environment. II. A degree in Agricultural sciences, Food Sciences, or equivalent work experience preferred. III. Experience demonstrating an understanding of processing and quality monitoring.
IV. Must have the ability to use Microsoft Office programs specifically outlook, word, and excel. Language Skills I. Effective communication with all levels of plant personnel is necessary; must be fluent in English. Must effectively communicate on a technical level and effectively express technical concepts to non-technical personnel. Must be able to write and interpret technical reports. Mathematical Skills I. Capable of performing and understanding mathematical calculations associated with meat processing: basic arithmetic, fractions, and percentages.
Must be able to read and analyze process data, charts, graphs, and logs. Reasoning Ability I. Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills are required.
