Role Description & Responsibilities: The Sr. Princ Systems Engineer will support the Business Development - Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) team requiring the candidate to function in a multi-disciplinary environment. The candidate should possess strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills to
generate and document system level launch vehicle requirements, perform vehicle performance backssments and participate in system level verification/data review activities.
Regular interface with program management, engineering staff and external customers is expected. The candidate is expected to lead major proposal efforts including direct and in-direct management of engineers with very limited oversight from engineering senior leadership personnel in a collaborative environment. The candidate must be willing to occasionally work during odd hours (nights/weekends) and occasionally longer than normal (>40 hrs/wk) to meet proposal delivery deadlines. The candidate should possess a
strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously. Experience Requirements: • Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience • Must have a DOD Secret level security clearance which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite.
• Demonstrated support for proposals / business development activities (RFIs, RFPs, etc. ) is required. • Proposal experience with technical, cost and schedule are required. Experience Preferred: • A strong experienced-based and academic foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals is desired. and analyzes proposed design changes and processes changes through the Configuration Management system. • Resolves hardware discrepancies, including containment, root cause determination, and corrective action.
• Performs engineering analyses by applying sound engineering principles and techniques and publishes results in technical reports. • Plans and executes engineering tests, such as development, qualification, lot acceptance, and service life extension tests to ensure propulsion and ordnance systems meet internal and external requirements. • Records, analyzes, and publishes test data in formal reports. • Writes work instructions for test and integration activities. • Produces a variety
of engineering documentation including analyses, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics), and presentations.
• Monitors hardware allocations and service life to ensure program requirements are met. • May be put in a “leadership” position mentoring lower level engineers and other technical personnel. • Performs other duties as assigned. • Travel to field integration sites, suppliers, and test facilities will be required (up to approximately 25%).
