Job Summary Provides leadership/supervision for the development and submission of Licensing and Permit packages for electric substations, including stormwater design, within the Delivery Projects and Construction Department utilizing a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive experience. Candidate will be responsible for preparing or supervising/reviewing detailed drawings and calculations for site plans, stormwater and
flood hazard design, foundations and structures as directed by design supervisors and in coordination with other disciplines.
Types of drawings include, but are not limited to: site plan, soil erosion and sediment control, stormwater / drainage, concrete foundation and steel support structures, as well as structural and/or architectural drawings for small buildings, masonry and concrete retaining walls. Coordinate and oversee complex design projects with Electrical Layout designers, Licensing and Permitting Group, Asset Experts, Vendors, Project Managers, construction and operating personnel, consultants and contractors to develop the design in conformance with the project schedule.
Coordinate the preparation and submission of Licensing and Permitting Drawings to the DCA, local municipalities, NJDEP and other stakeholders in conformance with their requirements and in support of the projects schedule. On call 24/7 in the event of system emergencies. Job Responsibilities • Instruct, assist, supervise, and evaluate the work of technical staff to best accomplish the assigned functions. • Oversee the development of civil and structural detailed drawings using Micro Station V8i software. • Prepare calculations and drawing submittals for obtaining permits for the construction of projects.
• Develop estimates and schedules for preparation of civil design drawings for new and emergency projects. • Conduct field investigations at substations to verify job-site existing conditions. • Review complex Civil and L&P Design drawings for conformance to PSE&G standards and applicable federal, state and local ordinances. Job Specific Qualifications Required: • B. S. in Civil Engineering and at least 8 years of industry experience • 6 years experience with NJ regulatory and licensing requirements, including environmental, zoning, planning and construction codes and NJAC-7 (Stormwater Regulations).
