Job Description / Duties: Prepare and execute Commercial Grade Dedication Plans. Coordinate with key stakeholders / disciplines to define critical characteristics and acceptance criteria. Coordinate closely with external suppliers to define and execute testing, inspections, qualification, etc. to meet critical characteristic acceptance criteria. Engage in supplier Commercial Grade Dedication surveys as the engineering member of the survey team. Create design models and detailed drawings using CAD software and other design methods. Provide engineering support involving assembly, testing and inspection of components and systems.
Assist in the development and qualification of advanced manufacturing technologies. Prepare test reports and qualification reports. Support engineering procurement efforts and control of components. Inspect and characterize components. Communicate task/project status to all stakeholders clearly and effectively to maintain clarity of progress, issues, mitigating actions, barriers, etc. Provide other engineering and manufacturing support tasks as required. Job Qualifications / Requirements: A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e. g. Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering other engineering related disciplines) is required.
Must possess at least two (2) years of related experience. Compensation commensurate with varying levels of education and/or experience. Must have demonstrated experience in the preparation and execution of Commercial Grade Dedication Plans and associated activities. Must have demonstrated experience and proficiency in Solidworks (or comparable) 3D CAD. Knowledge of Engineered Systems & Systems Design is a plus. Must be able to work in a team environment to solve complex problems coupled with minimal oversight. Ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely written and verbal communication is required.

Job duties include fulfilling the lead engineer role on a variety of projects including: material characterizations, design of specialized test equipment/experiments, planning and implementing laboratory upgrades, managing laboratory projects including cost and schedule. Job Description / Duties: Assist in selecting, installing, and commissioning specialized laboratory equipment including high temp.
furnaces and analytical instruments. Plan and implement laboratory upgrades including selection and procurement of equipment, process planning, and support of formal safety/licensing evaluations. Lead routine and customized analyses to resolve production issues for on-site manufacturing facility, typically through qualitative elemental analysis utilizing SEM/EDS and quantitative analysis utilizing electron microprobe. Design new analysis methods including selection of instruments and authoring of technical procedures. Work closely with instrument operators to ensure analysis methods are appropriate.
Author/maintain area operating procedures and technical procedures. Interpret test data and author technical reports. Work directly with radioactive materials in a safe manner. Participate in fuel development efforts including process development and characterizations. Job Qualifications / Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry or related technical field. Self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail. Strong commitment to safety culture and willingness to ensure compliance to all codes and standards.
Minimum two (2) years engineering experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment is required. X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD). Wavelength dispersive spectroscopy for quantitative microanalysis. Metallographic sample preparation techniques. Weld attribute evaluation using standard microscopy techniques. Heat treatment processes and operation of high temperature furnaces. General laboratory practices including working with hazardous chemicals. Quality assurance best practices including documentation and handling of data/records.
Experience with dimensional inspection techniques and/or familiarity with interpretation of dimensional data –optical comparator and/or CNC machines – is a plus.
